This episode is my ultimate season 1 comfort ep- I love that there's relatively low stakes and that it's mostly about two families learning more about each other. The Pizzas have such a fun dynamic with each other, I always laugh at Jenny's aghast lil "daDDYYYYYY" when her dad starts 'threatening' to take away privileges during the volleyball match.

She was based off of Theodosia Okoh, designer of the Ghanaian national flag and grandmother to Ian Jones-Quartey -- who was supervising director for the first few seasons of Steven Universe and is married to Rebecca Sugar.
