This is my other favorite episode of S1A... and it's the other one with interesting story framing, ahah. I seem to have a pattern here. I just love how this is all framed as a story that Steven is telling to Connie (which allows for some unreliable narrator at times, which is intriguing to me), it shows a lot of vulnerability on his part to be this open about a confusing experience with her. And then oof, what a terrifying experience being cracked is. Gem style body horror. None of that could've been comfortable for Amethyst at all, I feel bad for her. AND for Steven, for having to see his maternal/big sister figure go through such a thing.
