ONE PIECE Ep 14 "Luffy's Revival! Miss Kaya's Life and Death Confrontation" Full Length Reaction

Here is my full length unedited reaction for One Piece! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. But it always starts at 00:00:00. Must have your own copy to watch along with, since I can't offer that due to copyright laws. Streamer: Netflix

You're right... The characters in the anime do feel more formidable than in the LA... Although that's to be expected, there is a lot of things that live-action can't really imitate from Animation/drawings... They can't go as crazy with the creativity. And while I agree that the LA definetly robbed us of a lot of characterization in this arc specifically... I personally wouldn't mind a new version of the story being made where they combine the best aspects of both adaptations... Like... Leaving almost everything the same from the anime/manga except that the fight takes place in Kaya's Locked-down Mansion like in the LA. Because one of the things that I definitely enjoyed the most in the LA was the Horror theme they were going for with it. And also including that one conversation that Nami had with Kaya, that was also a great addition from the LA, it gives Kaya more characterization and also allows her to interact with more people other than Usopp, Kuro and Merry. Although I gotta say... Zoro's fight against Butchi and Sham is definetly better in the LA, here 90% of the fight is just them throwing claw slashes while he defends.... The LA made that fight way more dynamic.

Clearly, I am the only one attached to THAT Kuro line since the recap didn't even include it. XD While I agree with everything you've said so far, I admit that I still kinda prefer the live action version of this arc. It might just come down to how cool of a decision it was to move the climax into Kaya's locked-down mansion instead of just some beachfront. What it may have lacked in character moments it made up for in atmosphere. (Also, it's way shorter so there's that. I forgot how lengthy the original arc was.)
