The fury of the training and subsequent trauma training is so effective in this episode. I think it surpasses the manga and live action versions too.

2023-11-07 17:15:11 +0000 UTCI do agree that this version of Zoro's backstory beats the LA, but I do prefer the setup there, with him having to climb out of the well in a similar show of determination rather than just taking a nap. Heck, in the manga, I'm pretty sure it happens in the middle of their confrontation with Morgan. Hey, wanna know what's worse than Kuina dying by falling down the stairs? How about her being attacked offscreen and beaten so badly that she was crippled for life and could never wield a sword again? Because that's what the 4Kids dub went with! Apparently they thought that was better because, hey, at least she's not DEAD, right? :D You can expect me to rant about the 4Kids dub more frequently in the future due to certain other "changes" that crop up later. It has a great deal of infamy amongst the fandom, especially compared to the uncut Funimation one that I'm watching along with.
