As a biochemist, I need to point out that the funky little things stuck into the rocks in this place are overtly modeled after the classic T4 style bacteriophage, which is a type of virus that infects bacteria and hijacks its energy and inner machinery to produce more of itself. >:3 Also oof, this here is an episode that always makes me teary. It's always so painful hearing Amethyst say such loathing things about herself :(
