I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. i think the little bumps in the head are just for comedic slapstick, like... i get what you're saying about not hitting children... and you're totally right about the slap, it was uncalled for... but the hits in the head are a common trope in anime, you're gonna see a lot of it in this anime for comedic relief. But turning to other recent matters.... seems like the One Piece Live-Action was a total success indeed because it was recently announced that the One Piece Anime is gonna get a Remake done by Wit Studio (the people who animated the first 3 seasons of Attack on Titan), which are awesome news since One Piece definetly needs it... mainly because now they can remove all the filler and padding of the original anime...

But yeah, of all the character flashbacks from the live action, I'd say their version of this one felt closest to the original, despite the changes in the present-day story. I honestly wish I could get behind the sub crowd on these voices, but I don't know, it always just sounds off to me. Granted, a lot of that is just that it clashes with the voices I'm used to, but listening to Japanese Arlong for a few lines, he kinda just sounds like a normal guy to me? Not really what I'd expect from a scary fishman. I always just feel like I'm missing something when people talk about how great the Japanese VA's are and it kinda upsets me. Guess this is why I'm only a casual anime fan. ^^;
