STEVEN UNIVERSE 2x10 "Chille Tid" Full Length Reaction

Here is my full length unedited reaction for Steven Universe! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. But it always starts at 00:00:00. Must have your own copy to watch along with, since I can't offer that due to copyright laws. Streamer: Ma

The way Lapis's line "Just let me do this for you!" echoes Pearl's earlier line "Why won't you let me do this for you, Rose?!"...it seems that, contrary to Steven's wishes, he's got himself a knight after all.

"Has Pearl ever relaxed in her entire existence?" A fantastic question, ahah. So far what we've seen seems to point to... probably no. Now that you mentioned that, I think it's an interesting character juxtaposition that- despite Gems not needing sleep- we've seen Amethyst choose to do so before, but not any of the others. (Although Garnet at very least seems to know exactly how it's done. Pearl, on the other hand, didn't even have an understanding of what dreams were before Steven explained it.) But Amethyst is the Gem of the group who emerged HERE, whose only home IS the Earth, who enjoys spending her free time engaging in a lot of human stuff like eating and watching TV... so it makes sense that she'd enjoy sleeping too. I like the way they deal with the dream sequences in this episode. They feel delightfully random and scrambled. Not to mention, real life states of lucid dreaming can be achieved by waking oneself up and falling back asleep repeatedly, which they showcase here with Steven. Although in his case... it seems to be lucid dreaming plus some sort of extra Gem power weirdness juice allowing him to connect with another person's mind. Too bad that's not how real lucid dreaming works, ahah. As a final note, I still think a lot about how one of Steven's dreams was essentially him imagining a normal, human life for himself and his family where the plot of the "episode" was literally just silly slice of life as he gets ready to go to a school dance with Connie. I feel like this says a lot about where he's at as a person right now amid the growing stressors of the Gem chaos he's dealing with.
