STEVEN UNIVERSE 2X16 "Nightmare Hospital" Full Length Reaction

Here is my full length unedited reaction for Steven Universe! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. But it always starts at 00:00:00. Must have your own copy to watch along with, since I can't offer that due to copyright laws. Streamer: Max

aaahh... this episode in particular brings me a big sense of Nostalgia... because this was the episode where i first caught up to the show. i still remember it like it was yesterday... the entire fandom speculating about when Malachite (Jasper&Lapis) was going to return, the theories about the then-twice-mentioned Yellow Diamond, the heated discussions about whether or not Sadie and Lars should be a couple, etc. And given the opportunity that this is an episode featuring Lion i think this is as good time as any to mention that his growls and roars are all voiced by none other than Dee Bradley Baker himself, the man is not only every Animated Clone Trooper in the Star Wars Franchise... he apparently also voices every single goddam animal in the animation industry xddd.

What a wonderful growth episode for Connie! This ties together so many threads that have been introduced for her so far... from her love of fantasy novel heroines to basically BECOMING one herself with her involvement in Steven's life, to her eyes being healed by Steven's powers way back in season 1A- which in many ways I think was a major "no turning back" point for her, to the sheer showcase of her growing sword skills... something that the show has hinted at her learning in multiple episodes before she started training with Pearl. And then of course, most prominent in this episode, it shows major growth in her relationship with her mom. I quite like Dr. Maheswaran... she's a mother who means well, but understandably, absolutely does not have a clear picture of what's happening around her until Steven and Connie can help fill in the gaps. Sometimes... things with parental figures or other relationships in one's life will never get better until you can have an honest dialogue together. I'm really happy that you immediately gleaned onto the significance of that little moment with Steven hugging the sword's scabbard at the end- it's a subtle little thing, but I think it says a lot about him as a character.
