I wonder how Steven makes bubbles with air in them, even if the bubble is created where there is no air.

2024-05-08 03:42:35 +0000 UTCI finally caught up after watching the past week. I joined for One Piece, stayed for Steven. Eventually I'll catch up on Adventure Time, too. I think Steven curling up into a ball is that "bleakness" that you were looking for. Despite the fact that Eyeball was a menace to Steven, being able to talk to someone would keep your sanity in a situation like that. Another thing about this episode is it really just shows how beautiful the backgrounds are. The background artists go way harder than they have any right to. I don't know if there's a single background in the show that couldn't be framed, they're all just so good.

Yeah, a bottle episode- or in this case, I guess a *bubble* episode- is indeed a very interesting choice for a season finale. I quite like that we got this small, contained little story with Steven after all the Big Reveals and Events of the last episodes, though... I think it allowed him (and the audience!) some nice time to really muse upon everything they've just learned. Re: your comment that you would've liked to see Steven acknowledge the dire situation he was in this episode at some point, I think my take is that the moment where he curls up into himself and his bubble shrinks down right after he tosses Eyeball out into space IS that acknowledgement... it's just not a vocal one. The poor kid seemed very defeated and lost at that point. The visual of him curling up like that gave me big "going into an energy saving hibernation mode" vibes, ooof. I really like that we get to hear the full end credits song in the actual episode! Up until now we've only gotten small isolated chunks of it, so it's touching to get the full thing set to Steven's reunion with the Gems. Lovely reaction. New format continues to work great. I am greatly looking forward to the next few seasons of reactions! Curiosity question, have you by any chance posted the schedule for this week yet? If so, I am unable to see it on my tier right now.
