This was one of the few predictions I got right on first watch. Not the *specific* adventure they had, but I noticed right away in Adventures in Light Distortion that Steven was telling Connie to look after Beach City, followed by Garnet telling Lapis and Peridot the same thing. I knew that was going to cause confusion and we'd likely get an episode where they'd either team up (like we saw) or some kind of "protect Beach City" competition.

First of all... that scene of Connie scouting Beach City with Binoculars for any potential problems is kinda funny if you take into account that given the position of Steven's House there is no way she could've done that from that angle xdd. You're right... Lapis' mannerisms in this episode were really cute, specially that pose at the end, it's good that she's finally letting herself be more loose and open after all she went through. The Pearl slander in this episode was unbelievable... how could they do this the Best Character??! xdddd. Connie was also a highlight here, she ended up being a very good leader, which makes sense given how organized she is and all the training Pearl gave her. Also that phrase she said "maybe he's really patient and caring, even tho it must be hard for him having to be the adult to a bunch of super-powered children" went really hard, Grace Rolek killed it with how she delivered her lines.

I think it’s really funny that Lapis doesn’t remember her from the “stealing the ocean” incident, lol. Makes sense though, given she had a ton more on her mind at the time. Connie wearing Steven’s shirt and keeping his bed warm is absolutely darling, ahah!
