STEVEN UNIVERSE 4X20 "Lion 4: Alternate Ending" Full Length Reaction

Comments

I suppose the other possibility is that Lion sniffed the kid when they met in the desert and was like "yeah, boy" and somehow dumped the other tape out in a similar way to him manifesting Rose's sword from his own head in the ep Lion 2: The Movie, but afshdfdjhg there's also plenty of interesting fan musings and headcanons that can be made with your suggestion! (In fact I... actually have a fic idea jangling about my head following that basic premise, ahah.)

No, you were CORRECT for not doing Steven Universe on YouTube. No offense taken. My personal experience with this fandom has been great and lovely in small doses and with the right corners, but the YouTube comments on channels who have done SU public have been a mess. Quite frankly, you probably would've run into tons of spoilers, too- and that's what I'm very passionate on trying to avoid contributing to lol. The "blind" part is half the fun of a watch series ahah. (But boy oh boy do I have to carefully comb through my own comments, sometimes... just to make SURE I don't slip and say certain things that are Known to me but not to you, or to another blind reactor. ESPECIALLY now that another reactor I watch on Patreon is almost done with the show, ahahah- gotta make sure I don't cross my wires with the reactors I'm watching simultaneously!)

While watching you watch this I realized that while they recorded two videos because they didn't know whether they were getting a boy or a girl, at least Rose found out before Steven was born. She's the only one who could have put the "Steven" tape (and *only* that tape) in Lion, since nobody else even knew about Lion. Not really a shocking revelation or anything - just something I never gave much thought to until today.

Glad you were able to take some time for yourself. Always happy to see a new one of these, though. :D Gosh, it’s always kinda sad to me seeing the poor lil kid study his mom’s tape to him like it’s some sort of secret message to unravel, instead of just… simply a gift. I remember getting really excited for a moment when Steven’s key unlocked that damn lock in Rose’s Room when I first saw this ep- before promptly remembering everything in there is fake. I got fooled just like Steven, ahahah. The line “This is just a bunch of garbage Mom left behind!” also makes me quite sad in retrospect, honestly… because the way his face falls right before he gets upset and kicks some garbage gives me this vibe of like… in his frustration of not fully understanding his “purpose,” he sees himself as yet more of Rose’s “garbage.” Which- of COURSE is not true, Rose wanted to have him because she loved him and wanted him to exist- but damn, the kid’s going through a rough time, for sure. :( So thankful Greggo was here to give him a shoulder to lean on. Lovely reaction as always! Thank you for sharing.

Kinda crazy that we got a continuation to the Lion Saga so later in the series, i mean "Steven's Lion", "Lion 2: The Movie" and "Lion 3: Straight to Video" were all in Season 1. I can't help but assume that this episode was written as a little jab to the fandom of the show, the episode starts with Steven trying to find a secret meaning in Rose's Tape which obviously ends with completely random results.... and when he finds the second tape and reads "For Nora" he inmediatly theorizes that he could have a sister that he didn't know about xddd. There's a scene in this episode that a REALLY wanna Vent about, but i can't since it would technically be considered a spoiler. When this episode came out the thing that the Fandom really focused on was that weird Pink Structure buried in Sand just outside of Rose's Trash Dump, it really stands out above all else there. Maybe it's just me.... but i find it really funny that when Steven opens the door with the Key... the camera then does a wide shot showing that the place didn't even had walls or a ceiling on the other side xddd, basically saying that the Key was useless the whole time. I don't know.... it's just hilarious to me. A lot of people were disappointed with this episode when it first aired, me included unfortunetely (i was 16yrs old at the time). We were expecting a major plot reveal... but instead we got a slightly new perspective on a previous plot development. Of course i now appreciate the episode for what it does, and it's really touching. Yeah.... i understand not wanting to upload this show on Youtube, it was kinda of a good call because... SU's Fandom is definetely one of the most infamous out of all the cartoons of the past decade. Heck... you're kinda lucky that you're not dealing with my past self here... if it was my 16-18yrs self watching this reactions....... you probably would've gotten a lot of passive-aggresive comments about you judging Pearl in a bad way xddd (yeah, i unfortunetely was one of those REALLY passionate fans too). Hopefully i've matured enough to understand that it's really not worth trying to "shape" the way someone new in the fandom views the show and it's characters.
