He has traumatic connections to things like that so he definitely wouldn't be able to stand up to anyone- he's also insanely introverted. We don't know if he was bullied as well, so he honestly could be laying low if not so he doesn't have to experience it again. If he stood up for El, he'd just be a new target with her.. and given that his own father used to bully him well.. you honestly can't blame him for not being able to speak up, you know?

2022-09-18 07:27:53 +0000 UTCI think I’m the only one who thought that they had been to all of Lucas’s games and he’d always been riding the bench but they were still there so it was ok to not be for this one for the following reasons. This campaign of Eddie’s happened to fall on the night of the championship game. Campaigns in D&D aren’t just thrown together and for people that are involved in them, it’s not just something that can be brushed off. I get how important it was to Lucas BUT he was/is supposed to still be a member of Hellfire. Yet in the lunchroom he was sat at Jason’s table with all the “popular kids”. He said he doesn’t want to be a “nerd or a loser” anymore, which to them they’ve always been, which is what Dustin said. Part of their groups bond is D&D and nerdy best friends unite together against the world. So, on campaign night Lucas wasn’t there for that so they had to find a sub, fair enough, that can be done, but you want them to come watch you at your championship game, but you sit with the basketball team, where Jason openly called Eddie a freak, which is probably a generalized thought about people that are friends with him. Including Mike and Dustin who are sat at that table. Lucas dipped on the campaign, expected them to be there at his game, but sits with the popular crowd because he doesn’t want to be or look like a nerdy loser which is what your friends are and have always been ok with, and have openly accepted? The coin flips both ways. I love Lucas, love these kids (hardly kids anymore) but It’s not so cut and dry in thinking they did Lucas dirty.

2022-09-18 04:42:04 +0000 UTC(I apologize in advance for my English, it’s not my language)— I agree on what you said about Will, but then I also think that this boy has been bullied his whole life, he went through the worst and he is just now starting to experience what is like to be a teenager while everyone else was able to mature before him, and in general he has always been very sensitive kid and more shy than others. Now he doesn’t want to go through the same things he went through in the old school so he tries to not be the center of attention, and that means trying to encourage El but being too afraid to stick up for her in front of everyone. I think that’s a very selfish and immature thing to do, but I think that’s pretty understandable knowing his character. (dont get me wrong I still very much hate he just stands there and watches, poor El)

2022-09-17 23:19:15 +0000 UTCSo I'm a dungeon master and let me just say campaigns take months of planning especially one that's lasted all semester so I understand why Eddie wouldn't postpone and I get why mike and dustin didn't wanna miss the session because it was the end of the campaign, its a huge deal. I do however also understand Lucas's point of view so I sympathize with everyone its a complicated situation.

2022-09-17 15:02:31 +0000 UTCIn Mike and Dustin’s defense i don’t think they ever anticipated that there would be a D&D club in high school. Secondly, Mike never said that he hated D&D, he just made the valid point that Will shouldn’t expect him to want to play it when he is dealing with problems with El especially when Hopper basically intimidated him into breaking up with her. This issue comes up again in season 4 and honestly while I understand why Will’s and Lucas’s feelings are hurt, I sympathize more with Mike and Dustin because they obviously feel like the others are whining and complaining instead of making a conscious effort to maintain the friendship. Will especially, his behavior in episode 3 in particular kind of irks me, the fact that he seems to expect Mike to carry their friendship and doesn’t seem to take any responsibility for their lack of communication is frustrating. The responsibility of maintaining this friend group shouldn’t be on one person so I get both sides but EVERYONE is somewhat to blame

2022-09-17 14:37:46 +0000 UTCI do agree that Mike & Dustin should've been there for Lucas but what makes me so annoyed is that Mike and Lucas literally refused to play D&D with Will last season and acted as if Will was immature for still being interested in playing it and Mike had a whole argument with Will where he straight up insulted him and in the end Will decides to throw out his game set when he moves away because he doesn't want to play with anyone but his best friends and now all of a sudden Mike has joined an entire D&D club and is obsessed with it again -_-

2022-09-17 03:08:40 +0000 UTCMiles likes the movie Starship Troopers right? The girl that plays Chrissy is Grace Van Dien, the daughter of Casper Van Dien who played Johnny Rico. Grace who plays Chrissy confirmed Eddie is 19 and Chrissy is 18. The Duffers said that the previous seasons the kids were too young to do more of a horror themed season which is the Duffers favorite theme or style of movie, but previous seasons they were too young, but this season they weren’t. Filming was delayed nearly a year on this season because of Covid so they tend to look older. Sadie Sink who plays Max is 15 in the show but in real life, she’s actually 20. The Duffer bros said they regretted killing Chrissy and felt they’d made a “mistake”, which they normally don’t feel they make. Joe who plays Eddie (who’s also British) improvised most of the scene in the woods, so when he fell off the bench and Chrissy laughed and looked surprised, that was 100% genuine because Grace, the actress who plays Chrissy was not expecting any of that to happen. The Duffers said they watched the scene in the woods back later and looked at each other and said “I think we’ve made a mistake killing Chrissy” because the chemistry between Joe and Grace really came through for Eddie and Chrissy. It was too late to change it though as they’d already filmed Chrissy’s death scene before the woods scene and to reshoot and rewrite parts of the script was too time consuming but I was bummed because they said “they’d liked to have seen where that relationship between Eddie and Chrissy could have gone” 😩😩
