lmao i keep making comments as im watching. steve nancy and robin didnt get loose because of el. they got loose because hopper was saved by joyce and murray set fire to the demidogs/demigorgan. its all a hive mind. when one thing from the upside down gets hurt or badly beaten/burned, it hurts everything in the upside down.

also nathan is right, the mindflayer was shaped and made by vecna. thats why he was a spider. the upside down was nothing, an abandoned wasteland until vecna came in and made it his own creation. They thought vecna was a string of the mindflayer, but they were wrong. vecna is in control of the whole upside down, and is the reason its so deadly. why do you think we didnt see any demigorgans or demidogs when he first got sent there? he shaped it all. its his creation.

not sure if anyone else had commented this, but el spinning the bottle at the end was not her going into maxes mind. el wasnt using her powers at all there. the bottles spinning reminded her of the time when her and max were in that room in season 3 playing spin the bottle to see whos mind el would go into (when she went into billys mind and saw heather). El was spinning the bottle thinking of that memory while also remembering when she held maxes hand in the hospital and tried to go into her mind while holding her hand, she found nothing.

el used her love for max to get out of the vines, hence why memories of her and max came up. Mike saying that shit in the beginning didnt do anything until he told her ass to fight. he loves the IDEA of el, but lets be real, el doesnt even know who she is as a person and what she likes/enjoys. mike still knows nothing about her besides her powers. the only person he knows on such a deep level is Will (Who had to constantly nudge him to say shit to el). Mike literally only said that monologue bc will told his ass too. it was all so fake. he didnt once compliment her as a person, or bring up what he loves about her/why he loves her- it was all about her powers. which is what she hates btw. also the whole "She wont need me anymore" bs is so incredibly unhealthy. their relationship is cracking, its toxic. why do you think she wouldnt talk to him for two days straight after he said the thing she always wanted to hear? it wasnt genuine, it wasnt love for her,it was love for the idea of her. and dont say "its because of what happened to max" because she was talking perfectly fine and normal with the others. next season is gonna be such an eye opener for everyone, the duffers literally said they dont believe in love at first sight and that was written into mikes monologue. the pieces are mf fitting.

Davion and Cameron - totally the kings of this reaction. Opinions and thoughts on point. Typically there's good takes all around but y'all just made the best points this episode. It really helped balance out how frustrating everything else was lol Like.. okay. Nathan's obsession with whether a character is "useful" or not?? Weird and so so frustrating. The idea that a character can only be good or loved if they're useful, that them being relatable and interesting isn't enough, and then to cling to that idea loudly and constantly like.. idk man. That's on the same level of yikes as the attitude that if you personally don't "get" the character, or you don't get the hype, then they're not great / don't deserve it. Eddie wasn't a character you identified with or related to, you didn't really like him, and all of that is fine but you don't have to be aggressively vocal against him. Like damn. 'Kay I just had to get that out (it was driving me bananas) but i'll skip the rest of my opinions because tbh a lot of it has already been said by others, like stuff in regards to the characters and the plot, and what hasn't been said doesn't feel important enough to add. But it was still a fun reaction to watch. I appreciate the time you guys put into doing these because you really don't have to. Nervously looking forward to your Umbrella Academy reactions and Stranger Things 5 needs to get here asap

If they kill one of the Byer boys it’ll be will In my opinion, he may just make the ultimate sacrifice to save his family and friends. Farthermore I think everyone who was in Cali lacked major screen time. Except for el. Mike will and johnathan didn’t really have much of a storyline this season!

The answers to their misunderstandings in simple terms🤣: 1) eleven would have beat Vecna if Nancy Steve and robin did not intervene from the upside down. 2) El bringing max back doesn’t mean a new power, she’s telekinetic, if she can throw a body then she can telekinetically pump a heart like a defibrillator. 3) the mike&el scene was so significant because A) el could hear him & max couldn’t hear Lucas dustin or Steve. B) mikes voice was els version of music being the key back to reality. 4) the mind flayer is Vecna, the dust cloud itself was literally just a shadow-monster-like entity, but Vecna transformed it into the spider form and put his own conscious onto it, making Vecna the actual mind flayer. 5) remember that Vecna absorbs all the things he kills or has control over; all the lab kids, max’s conscience, demogorgons, demodogs, shadow monster(now mind flayer bc it’s vecnas projected conscience). Unlike El, Vecna absorbs victims, and that is where Max’s mind is.

i actually think it's going to be mind flayer, el and the others vs vecna and maybe eddie (in dnd lore somebody who was bitten by bats ressurected as a vampire or something). i think the mind flayer is a neutral but a powerful force that vecna harvested. i also think it's going to end with vecna defeated and the two worlds coexisting but seperate. also i think eddie and max are both going to be saved. also the other kids with powers are definitely going to come into play, probably around the same time they save max from vecna

Exactly, Murray using the flame thrower with the demogorgons in Russia was what saved everyone: it made the demobats fall, Vecna's red mind place started to vanish and the vines stopped choking Nancy, Robin and Steve.

Nah, that's a reach. I understand why you might think that, but that scene reminded me of another one in S2 when Will explains to Mike the connection he has with the Upside Down, that he remembers everything and that the Mind Flayer is spying on them.

No, to me, I think it was meant to show that Henry and El are similar but contrary to what Henry has done, which is killing people and not giving them a chance to right their wrongs (their guilt and trauma), El choose to restart Max's heart and make a good deed, giving her a chance to live. If El had true plot armor, she would've deeated Vecna but she didn't: she lost. That tell us that her powers are not enough to save the day... she needs help. I wonder how they'll solve all this mess in S5.

Mike's I love you scene was VERY important considering a huge problem in their relationship was that Mike couldn't say I love you, which is the affirmation El always needed. Literally their main problem and big fight in this season was because Mike seemed to be pulling away and would never say or even write "love" or "I love you" leading El to feel even more insecure in their relationship so it's not lame or unrealistic for his speech to have given her the extra boost to free herself from the vines. It also helped that Vecna was literally distracted and trying to kill Max. On top of that she has ALWAYS been powered by love. Yes her rage can also affect her powers but every important fight, for example the first time she beats Vecna and banishes him, LOVE has given her power. She remembered her mother telling her she loves her and THAT is where she found the source for her power.

El and everyone under no circumstances won this fight. Cast and crew have even said it. This is infinity wars, next season is Endgame. They’ll win next season but I don’t see how you see this season as a win, Vecna is alive and the Upside Down has been opened up with no clue how to close the crack and El nowhere near full power. That’s not even close to a win.

When Eleven pinned Vecna to the wall the only reason she was able to do that was because, yes she was emotionally buffed because of what Mike said but Vecna was also distracted because he was busy killing Max. When she pinned him that did not cause the bats and the vines to go away that was Murray shooting the demodogs and the demogorgan with fire. I would say Eleven did not win that fight because that wasn't really a fight. After she pinned Vecna he did not even fight back really because he knew he had killed max and won. Eleven is not as strong as him so he knew she could not kill him. He was just kinda gloating saying that she had already lost. And also Mike saying "I love you" is the same emotion that gave her the strength to beat Vecna the first time. Remember in episode 7 when she thought about the thoughts that made her mad he still beat her but when she remembered her mother saying "I love you" that is what gave her the strength to win. The same thing Mike did to give her strength.

We’ve been hearing Vecnas clock for four seasons. He’s always been the big boss. Season 1 in the woods, when Will fell off his bike on the way home, you hear it. Season 2 in the tunnels, you hear the chimes, season 3 is the clearest I’ve heard it when Billy sees himself in the upside down, you clearly hear 4 clock chimes, then by the pool when Billy is trying to get out of the heat. Vecna is basically the Mindflayer, he created it. He explained to El that she kept closing the gates on him so he left a physical piece behind before the gate could close at the end of season 2, the piece that possessed Will and then took over Billy in season 3. He couldn’t get through the gate but with his psychic connection to the mindflayer through Billy he told him to build a physical version of the mindflayer who would take El’s powers and psychicly feed it back to Vecna so he could take on El’s powers. That happened in seasons 3 episode “The Bite” when the mindflayer attached to her leg. That’s why her powers were gone at the end of the season, the mindflayer had passed them on to Vecna at his orders. In this season finale, when Vecna is about to lift Max, he says to her, “Don’t worry, this will all be over soon”, the same thing Billy said to Heather the lifeguard and El in season 3, further showing Vecna was controlling the Mindflayer the whole time. This was all Vecna from the start UNLESS the Duffers blindside us that actually the Mindflayer has only been letting Vecna THINK he’s in charge…. but the Duffers have said next season is Wills season. My theory or at least one of them, Will definitely has untapped powers he’s not aware of. When he grabs his neck, that’s his psychic connection to the mindflayer and Vecna but subdued because he possibly has a sotera chip in his neck like 001 did to dampen his possible knowledge of his power until he was ready to use it to fight against Vecna and so Vecna couldn’t make a clear connection to Will to try and take him over as a host because his powers could be equal to El’s. El can’t win alone. I’d put money on it being Vecna trying to take over Wills body as a host as his body was so damaged this season and because he knows what we don’t know yet, that Will is powerful enough to hold him. (Will the wise is a wizard, Vecna is a dark wizard, a coincidence, I think not). Will and El will go up against Vecna and obviously their friends will be their to help them through, but this time I think we could lose core members of the group, and it’ll be upsetting and hurt like hell.

Also still havent finished yalls reaction but the reason why when el went into maxs fins she saw pitch black, its because remember when vecna kills he keeps their consciousness in his mind he " absorbs" everything about them yes max only died for a minute BUT it doesnt matter one second was all it took. Personally i predict that somehow el will go into 1s mind and will like talk to the dead kids with powers consciousnesses and somehow they are all gonna like transfer their powers to el and thats how she gets the strength to save the day

So i havent finished watching yalls reaction yet but for the moment to answer your question nathan, think about it like this "the shadow" existed before vecna but when vecna found it hes the one that made it "the mind flayer" because all this time its been "his mind" so basically he created he created the mind flayer. lhere is an example, lets be honest the president dont do anythin in the war he just declares war and says to the military general k now u go do stuff lol basically the shadow is the general also i dont know why but i feel like in the very end el might do something that riggers vecna to be good idk how but i think thats gonna happen but since 1 gave the mind flayer his own mind kinda he might betray 1 and its gonna be like a 1 and el vs mind flayer ik it doesnt make sense but its just how i feel

I'd like to say, I think the final scene where there at the field and the Stranger Things theme song was playing. I think all the characters in that scene, are going to be the main characters in season 5. Maybe not just Will, but the others as well. The writers spoke about coming full circle from season 1, and these characters were all the main characters in season 1. Just a thought. It would also make sense, as Mike, Will and Jonathan were side lined this season, now they get to shine again!!

Great reaction to the last ep!! <3 The last fight with everyone being slow was mostly that being shown in slowmotion. About Vecna disappearing from the fight with Eleven, I read that as Max dying and her mind being dissolved (you can see it happening around them). Eleven ended up back in the dark place, watching both Max and Lucas, and Vecna back in his physical body. :/

I honestly think eleven restarted Max's heart with her telekinesis, like she should be able to move her heart that way it contracts right? Just my thought. I don't think she has some weird healing capabilities, the doctors said her heart stopped and restarted so 🤷‍♀️ also I think vecna has Max's mind trapped somewhere
