This show was just one I couldn’t get into and I tried multiple times, but that’s me. Coming off off Stranger Things immediately onto another show, whichever show it was going to be had a hell of an act to follow. Hopefully it finds its footing for you.

He took the monocle because he found out that their mom had it and he knew Luther would freak out and accuse her of murder if Luther found it first. He was afraid of his Mom being put in danger so he took it and got rid of it but that plan failed because it only made Luther MORE suspicious and ended up leading to her having to be shut off anyway.

2022-11-13 04:32:00 +0000 UTCugh i hate to be the one to defend(?) this plotline because i hate it too, I just do understand where the idea comes from. they're supposed to be kids who grew up as lab experiments and their familial relationships are extremely dysfunctional because of that. i think we're meant to question how much of a "family" they really are, with a mother who was programmed to be "motherly," a father who *bought* them and put them through horrifying experiments throughout their childhood etc. The family façade is only as real as they make it, and as traumatized adults their relationships with each other are going to reflect how fucked up their childhood was. All I'm saying is, it does make sense in theory, I just don't think it was well executed. What should've been enriching backstory for those two characters actually just makes them less interesting somehow. i find them insufferable when they're together😭

Who knows what made them special, it could be a half sibling situation) but I would understand step siblings that met when they are teenagers and fell for each other. Still weird but more understandable then your entire life’s memories and references to this person being your brother. Big yuck.

They were adopted by the same dad and RAISED as SIBLINGS. Its weird all around like how can you consider the rest of the UA your siblings and refer to each other as your brother/sister but still pursue some sort of romantic relationship like that's weird af and the writers (including gerard way) are super creepy for that.
