THE OWL HOUSE 2X21 "King's Tide" Uncut Full Length Reaction - Patreon

Here's my full length unedited reaction for The Owl House 2X21! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. But it always starts at 00:00:00. Must have your own copy to watch along with, since I can't offer that due to copyright laws. Streamer: Disney+

Hollow mind uncut isn't on here

Oh yeah I'm not saying he's someone who the cast should just trust and automatically be fine with, I just don't see him as evil, and I personally feel like trapping a lonely child up again, even one who's a god who doesn't seem to understand human morality, wouldn't be a satisfying ending to his story.

I’m still not trusting The Collector πŸ˜‚ But I won’t be surprised if they end up doing what you are saying

The Collector canonically uses he AND they, so you're good! You'd asked at the beginning why King could hear the Collector-- it's because the Titan Trappers "connected" them during that sacrifice ceremony. I think that what the Collector is is a kid with a magnifying glass, and he's on such a different plane that it's hard not to see everyone else as an ant. A kid who burns an ant with a magnifying glass isn't inherently a bad person, just someone who needs their energy redirected, and who needs an adult to talk to them about why that's a hurtful thing to do. And it's not just the "form" he's taking-- remember, Kikimora calls them a child, Luz calls him a "kid." For the record, I don't know any more than you do, this isn't spoilers, just character speculation/analysis, but I genuinely don't think the Collector is malicious. Because the Collector is powerful in a magic sense, it's really easy to forget that he has been powerless for centuries, trapped in isolation, with Belos as his only real company, who could shut the kid up for as long as he wanted at the drop of the hat by tucking the little slab away and ignoring it. Belos, who canonically uses, abuses and then discards children when he no longer finds them "useful." There's a reason that kid was tossed in the same place the skeletons of the Golden Guards were, I think. He is another child being used by Belos, like the Guards, like Hunter, and he was left to rot with all the others. That's not to say he isn't dangerous, or that King's dad didn't have some sort of understandable reason for locking him away, he still needs to be stopped, but it doesn't feel like Bill to me, and I say that as a massive Bill fan. Bill never really grew up, sure, but he's an adult in the literal sense who knows he is hurting people and gets a kick out of that. The Collector is a lonely kid, every single thing King hears from him is this kid begging not to be betrayed, trying to convince himself that Belos is really his friend, asking King if he's just going to be another person that uses him. King wanted to be all powerful at one point, to be a "big scary monster," who gets to do whatever he wants whenever he wants, who gets to make his own rules. Eda and Luz helped him realize that no, he DOESN'T want that, that that's horrible and isolating, and what he actually wants is to be a normal kid with a loving family, because he had people who adored him the way he was and he realized he treasured that. The Collector is alone, with people using him like Belos, or worshipping him as a deity (and not treating him as a normal child) like the Titan Trappers. He's a title, not a name. He's lonely, canonically, and I think he needs someone to help him realize that he doesn't have to be, that he can have playmates and he doesn't have to "be alone anymore" if he learns to play nicely with others.

This ending left so many people shook because the future of the show was in doubt everyone like panicked at the ending also I don’t know if I’m in the minority here but I don’t think the collector means bad I think he’s essentially pretty much just a bratty child with godly powers which yes is a bad combination but I don’t think he’s evil
