I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. Theres the big reveal lol, and the plot thickens even more. Im pretty sure the hint that something was up with her was the fact shes physically pink, tho in the first episode Kipo isnt surprised at all that Mondu (a pig) is blue. So maybe colors dont mean that much in this world. Also as an animator. I absolutely love what they do with wolf in here. You picked up on it too, obviously we get some of her backstory but you can also just see how tense and on edge she is at all times just because of how they animated her, its just real good subtle storytelling.
