"You brought me back to life! Just... let me someone who deserves it" hits hard. Damn. Happy that after years and years of feeling afraid and like he doesn't belong anywhere, Lars has finally found this group of individuals who are willing to choose staying by his side over taking the easy route off Homeworld, and who he's fully willing to (and DID) die to protect. It's all so very poetic to me. I get very misty eyed when Lars shrugs away Steven's little hand to the chest thing and goes in for a hug instead. God. How far this character has come.

He must've been one of those lions that Rose was hanging out with in the episode "Buddy's Book" of Season 4, so when he died Rose probably felt really sad and accidentally used her tears to resurrect him. We also have to take into account that this must've happened during Buddy's time, meaning that Lion is already several hundreds of years old at this point, so if Lars is now the same as him... that means that he's also gonna live for a very long time (that's why he has such a slow heartbeat, it's a signifier that his aging process has slowed considerably). Although... there's a really tragic side to this and is the fact that.... now that Lars is the same as Lion... it means that he's probably gonna outlive everyone he knows... except for maybe Steven (we know that Steven can manipulate his own age depending on how he feels, which was demonstrated in the episode "So Many Birthdays" from season 1, so he could also live for a long-ass time too if he wanted to).
