This episode always made me sad, because yeah… What Ice King did was messed up, REALLY messed up… but at the end of the day… he still created New Life, an entirely new and different sentient being. This episode is obviously trying to parallel the story of Frankenstein, how an unhinged man is playing at being god to give life to a creature with body parts of different people. Ice King was being selfish, he did not create Monster Princess to simply allow her to experience life… he created her to be his wife, which once again speaks to how sad and lonely he really is. Monster Princess was an abomination, yes, she shouldn’t have existed… but still… she was an intelligent being with her own agency, who are we to determine whether she can live or not? In the end we got the easy solution, Monster Princess was self-aware enough and selfless enough to recognize that all the other Princesses needed their body parts back, so we could say it was a happy ending. Yet i can’t help but feel sad… that sentient being like her that was just starting to experiment life had to undone herself for the “Greater Good” My personal headcanon is that Monster Princess’ spirit still lives on, either as the night itself or maybe fusing itself with the moon (since that was the last image from which her voice was coming from) Flawed Characters is what makes a story good, and Adventure Time certainly exceeds at that.

The worst part in in Max E9 and E11 are actually a 2 part and supposed to be E5 and E6 EDIT: If you have it Hulu has them in the right order. though your well into whatever the heck max did while drunk. The big thing is to watch max's E9 and E11 as a two part episode as it is one and it's really good.
