Despite the colorful exterior and the silly comedy... this might one of the most heavy episodes of the whole show. We were shown a situation where an individual with emotional instability who grew up in a bleak and depressive enviroment took the bad path in life due the actions Princess Bubblegum made, and how that same person decided to end himself when he realized he no longer had no prospect for the future. And granted... yes, the reason for Cookie to hate Bubblegum it's exagerated and silly... but taking into account the demographic this cartoon it's aimed at... it makes sense that they had to tone down a lot of the elements of this plot. This also shows how Prideful Bubblegum is, refusing to let go of her crown when she could easily make another one, and not just that... the fact that she inmediately decided to throw one of her subjects to the dungeon for life once that citizen "threaten" her royal authority. And what we get at the end? Cookie is now gonna live the rest of his days in a Psychiatric Hospital (cuz they obviusly couldn't let Cookie stay dead after portraying his attempt at suicide) with a Straitjacket always restraining his movement. At the very least he's still surrounded by other people, and the fact that he got back a semblance of happiness thanks to his dream of becoming a Princess being fulfilled (sort of). Also... Good catch with Goliad and Stormo, i never noticed they appeared in the background of this episode until now xddd.
