STEVEN UNIVERSE 5X26 "Together Alone" Full Length Reaction

Okay so, little explanation on the Eras of this Gem universe, mostly because the show never explicitly explains it to us, and I think it will make things easier for you to follow. Basically, Era 1 started when the Diamons created the gems and stablished their authority and rule over the Gem species. It came to an end when Pink Diamond was supposedly shattered and the Diamons blasted the Earth, finishing the millenia-long gem war. Era 2 was everything that happened from that point on, the Crystal Gems protecting Earth and The Diamons expanding their rule over the Galaxy. It was also here when the Cluster was implanted on the Earth's Core and basically the whole show happens on Era 2. As for Era 2 finishing and Era 3 starting, well, you just saw it happen in this episode. Era 3 starts the moment White Pearl says "Welcome to Era 3". I hope this helps, love your reactions man, keep up the great work!

The answer to your question is No, Pink would've always remained smaller than the other diamonds, and it's not like the other Diamonds are all the same size tho... Blue and Yellow are the same height but White is noticeably Bigger than both of them. They're still gems at the end of the day... so they always will be the size that they had when they emerged from the ground. Talking about the diamonds, i always liked the fact that even the visual representations of their powers are different in shape, Yellow's power is shaped like lightning/electricity, Blue's power is shaped like water or waves, and White's power is of course shaped like a beam of light. We've known that Blue Pearl likes to draw, she was drawing during the episode "The Trial" at the beginning of the season... but it's also cool to find out what Yellow Pearl likes. And speaking of Pearls, notice how White Diamond's pearl has the same design as that Pink Pearl that was accompanying Steven in his dream (which is clearly a distorted memory of Pink Diamond), but now she's completely devoid of colour, her Eye is broken and her voice is being done by Christine (White Diamond) instead of Deede (Pearl). And yeah.... everyone really was quite frustrated with the way Blue talked about Steven's friends.... it's harsh, but also kind of understandable since they don't know otherwise (understandable but still not excusable).

I really love how the Gem society/Diamond Authority mirrors how a bigoted family acts in real life. Stifling any individuality, punishing their family members for stepping out of what's considered "tradition". Pink's story is very reminiscent of what it's like for a child to escape a religious cult/family and completely cut off contact. Her family was set in their ways and was stifling her, and even when she's "back" they don't recognize that they are the reason she left in the first place. They constantly talk about how they love her, yet they stomp on her for showing any of her real personality or feelings. Definitely strikes home as someone who had a similar (yet thankfully far less traumatic) upbringing where I felt like I couldn't be myself safely. Thankfully I've repaired my relationship with my own family and things did in fact change, but it required a huge amount of bravery from me and growth from my family. This show at its core is really about how being yourself will bring you the most happiness, even if its at the expense of disappointing or upsetting your peers or your family, and that it's worth fighting for.

So... months after its original TV airing they were GOING to air the SU Movie in theaters as a one-day event with a special preview a few days early of one of the final episodes of Steven Universe Future. I had tickets for it. Unfortunately that was scheduled for March 2020 however, so it was entirely cancelled due to covid lockdowns. I'm still gutted about it lol, I was ready with a closet cosplay and everything. Bummer. The title here is a clever lil reversal of Stevonnie's debut episode- Together Alone this time, instead of Alone Together. Despite this ep not being wholly ABOUT Stevonnie, this title did in fact cue a lot of fans to speculate before it aired that Steven and Connie would in fact accidentally fuse in front of the Diamonds, which... of course... panned out entirely. If Steven wears his mother's outfit better than she did, then Stevonnie wears it better than either of them. It's a sleek look. I really wanna cosplay it some day. YEAH, it's really rough to hear Blue Diamond talk down about everyone in that middle scene this episode, with Garnet and Connie especially. Rough reminder of how Gemkind genuinely sees organics as fundamentally beneath them, and cross-fusions as mockeries of the rest of their kind. :( I also find myself quite disturbed by the dream sequence at the beginning, and the way Steven overtly coughs up hunks of what looks like his mother's coil-y hair. What a haunting, messed up visual.
