I always seen the chicken soup as a metaphor for medicine. There are actually several clues. The way he pauses before "we need to get you some... chicken soup". The fact that the "soupery" was selling greeting cards makes me think it was actually a pharmacy. The "clambulance" wasn't just a weirdly/illegally designed food truck, it was an ambulance, and Simon was actually cursing because he couldn't find any medicine and Marceline was sick, likely with something that would eventually kill her. It makes sense that she would remember it this way because she was 7 at the time, and Simon wouldn't have told her she was dying, and would try to keep her calm instead.

2024-10-09 06:55:03 +0000 UTCThis episode is simply beautiful and tragic, it's no wonder why it's in the Top 10 of highest rated episodes of the show. Little Marceline is the cutest thing ever, she was very lucky that Simon found her. Nope, that was not the same Deer from the "No One Can Hear You" episode, Simon and Marcy ate this one xdd. Yes, Cheers is Canon in the Adventure Time universe... which is hilarious and one of my favorite things to look at in retrospect. Yes, the Oozers (which is the name of the zombie creatures) are most likely all former humans who were affected by the radiation of the bombs during the Mushroom War. "MOTHER! MOTHER! MOTHER! MOTHER!" once again Adventure Time finds some of the most funny ways to curse without actually cursing xdd. All that Bubblegum in the scenery, and that face in the Bubblegum at the end... very intriguing stuff indeed. Fun Fact: this episode was written and storyboarded by Rebecca Sugar.
