Perhaps this a strange sentiment to have.... but i love that there are still characters who are antagonistic towards Steven and the Crystal Gems, the majority would phrase it as "well... they're refusing to change so it's their loss" but that's not how i see it... i see 2 gems who were contempt with the life they had under the previous Diamond regime on Homeworld.... but suddenly everything they knew changed because of Steven. They already hated him before because of his connection to Rose, but the complete shift in Gem Society was the nail on the coffin. If anything i find it kinda cute that they bonded over their hatred towards Steven xdd. At the very least we know that Aquamarine is not completely "evil", if that were the case then she wouldn't have been so lenient with the 2 Topazes when they arrived at Homeworld with Steven and Lars. And honestly... that's enough for me.

2024-10-22 19:05:26 +0000 UTCGenuinely, the loss of Greg's hair was gutting to me. You could really feel how heavy a sacrifice this was for him. The scene at the end with Steven and Greg really nails home the Ultimate theme of this show, I think- Steven: "I'm really sorry, Dad. I never should have given Bluebird a chance." Greg: "I love how you believe in everyone. You stuck to your principles, and I'm proud of you. I mean, everyone can change, but not everyone wants to." Everyone CAN change. Can, is the optimal word. But not everyone wants to. I like the way that's worded a lot. No one is ever "beyond saving." But sometimes, they simply aren't at a place where they are willing to put in the work, and perhaps they'll NEVER reach that place. That's just life, and frankly- it's a tragedy. It's really, really funny here, though. Aquamarine and Eyeball fusing just because they really hate Steven for petty reasons is peak comedy to me. XD
