So.... now that you know what "Endless Vearth" is and the fact that Enel escaped and went towards it....... it is time to finally talk about Enel's cover story in the manga, which is one of the most interesting ones (if not the most interesting) in my opinion. [THIS IS GONNA BE A LONG COMMENT SO... PREPARE FOR THAT] We begin the story with Enel actually reaching the Moon, the Ark Maxim crashed into it due to all the damage it suffered and for some reason Enel seems to be able to breath just fine there, we don't know if it's because the Moon of this world has an Atmosphere or because Enel's logia powers enables him to not be affected by the vacuum of space. But the important thing is that he reaches the Moon and he's just fine. He wanders through the rocky plains of the Moon until he comes across what appears to be a little creature with a military uniform laying almost dead in one of the craters, Enel decides to attack it with an electrical discharge (yes, he just attacks it out of the blue) but when he does the creature comes alive and does a military salute to him. Enel realizes that he'd come across a mechanical life form and by attacking him with electricity he returned it to full health (although Enel is a bit disappointed with this turn of events xdd). The little military robot presents itself as "First Lieutenant Spacey" and thanks him for charging him up, but Spacey feels sad because he abandoned his post when the enemy attacked so he decides to go back to the site of the battlefield.... with Enel choosing to follow out of curiosity. they arrived at the battlefield and Spacey's comrades lay around unconscious just as he was, their names are Colonel Macro, General Galaxy and Sargeant Cosmo.... Spacey weeps for them as Enel watches silently.... until a new figure appears behind them and stabs Spacey with an electrical spear in the back. The figure is some sort of humanoid Rat creature, and is presented to us as Seamars... the Captain of the Space Pirates (oh yes, this cover story pretty much confirms that there is whole other Sci-fy universe going on outside of the One Piece Planet xdd). Seamars then attempts to stab Enel but thanks to his Logia fruit and his Mantra he was able to shrug off the attack... and then quickly defeat Seamars with an electrical kick. Tho he doesn't have time to relax cuz a big explosion went off in the distance of where they are, Enel becomes furious because someone is harming his precious Vearth. We then find out that the explosion was caused by the rest of the Space Pirates who are excavating the Moon searching for it's long lost ruins. Enel inmediately transports himself to their locations and it's about to launch an attack.... but before we see what happens we cut back to Spacey who is shocked in the ground but still alive, he reminisces about why he and his comrades came to the Moon in the first place... we find out that they were creations of a Scientist named Professor Tsukimi, who lived on an island named Karakuri (yes, an island in the One Piece world). The Professor was a very kind-hearted man so he treated Spacey and his comrades as family. One day while Tsukimi and his mechanical sons were calmly gazing at the moon and eating snacks.... a big explosion happened on the moon and because of the shock of seeing that event Tsukimi accidentally swallowed his dumpling without chewing..... tragically causing him to die of suffocation. Spacey and his friend mourned their creator and gave him a proper funeral, and after it the 4 Automata travelled to the Moon using balloons to take revenge upon the individual responsible for causing the explosion. Upon reaching the Moon they encountered the Space Pirates, and tho they fought valiantly they were subsequently defeated. Back on present time... Spacey continues to cry in regret of his loss, but then is surprised by a enormous glare happening in the background, it is Enel who destroyed the excavation site alongside all the Space Pirates with ease. Spacey carries his friends to Enel in a cart and deeply thanks him for avenging their creator, unmoved and annoyed... Enel zaps them all again and the 3 other Automata come back to life as well. Enel then sets his sight on a big cave that the Pirates excavated and decides to explore it. Once inside Enel discovers the ruins of big ancient city hidden beneath the Moon's crust. In childish spite... Enel attacks the city with his lightning, but instead of causing damage..... the City itself absorbs Enel's attack and lights up as well as charging a legion of ancient robot sentinels very similar to Spacey and his comrades. Spacey and his company arrive at the scene shortly after... and along with the ancient automata.... they all thank Enel for awakening them. Enel then looks at the wall paintings and discovers it's history........ It turns out that the Skypieans, the Shandians and the Birkans all share a Common Ancestor, The people who lived in the moon, built this ancient city and constructed this ancient automatas were the ancestors of all the people we saw on the Sky (that's the reason why the Shandians have wings just like Skypieans and Birkans even tho they lived on the Blue Sea). We also learn that these ancestors ended using up all the resources of their home, and therefore they decided to descend upon the Earth to live there after having a tearful goobye with their creations. All of the Automatas then pledge their loyalty to Enel for reawakening them. Though Enel was still annoyed by this, he gave thought to the fact that he was surrounded by endless followers along with the Fairy Vearth that he'd long sought. Thus, he accepts their loyalty and stands tall as the leader of his new army. That is how Enel's cover story ends. as you can see....... there is A LOT to unpack there xdddd.

The theme of people's ideals living through the words they shout out to the air as the narrator says is one that i didn't pick up on before but it's actually very true.... just as Noland and Calgara's plight and promise to each other carried over the centuries.... the exact same thing happened with Roger, his words about the existence of the One Piece completely changed the world and still continues to change it in the current story. It's a very neat connection that i didn't notice before. Yes, everyone survived... including Pagaya who had a really convincing "death" scene. The "No one Dies in One Piece" trope strikes once again xddd. So yeah.... the "Endless Vearth" that Enel has constantly been preaching about turned out to be the Moon, i know it's frustrating that he just gets away to achieve his goal BUT....... thanks to that we get a very good and interesting Cover Story about him, which i will summarize in another comment.

Mostly everyone has asked me to watch the filler arc coming up, so those will be recorded

Skipping Skypeia should never be done in my opinion. It's definitely integral to the story. The anime may drag out episodes sometimes but Oda doesn't put in random story arcs for no reason. He knows what he's doing to build the world, so you definitely did the right thing by watching it through. Pay offs in One Piece take a long, long time. It's got over 1110 chapters, so just keep going with it! Glad you're enjoying it so much! By the way, not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but there are filler episodes coming up. Episodes 196-206 are filler. I can't remember but the beginning/ end of the episodes might transition to the next canon arc, so I'm not sure you should skip them outright.

The best final blow to me is still probably Crocodile's, but that's mainly because I liked Crocodile a lot more as a villain so it felt more satisfying to take him down. (Also not crazy about the fact that Eneru just sort of... leaves, basically achieving his goal minus the totally unnecessary genocide on the way out. As funny as the reveal was that 'Endless Vearth' was just the damn moon.) The reveal of the 'giants' was also awesome. I'm almost surprised you forgot since you held onto that image for a LONG time. Though I am surprised you didn't make the giant Luffy shadow the thumbnail. But I'll admit... yeah, everyone who supposedly died just being fine afterward does take a lot out of the stakes in retrospect. I was watching all those 'death' scenes again and just being like 'Man, this would have a lot of impact if I didn't know they were just gonna be fine at the end'. Again, this is why I appreciate the live action actually killing Merry, a decision that was implicitly approved by Oda. I wonder if even he felt he wasn't being bloodthirsty enough sometimes. XD
