2024-11-02 08:19:58 +0000 UTCI love that shot of Aisa and the Shandians saying goodbye to the Strawhats while the Bell is ringing in the back........ the way all of their hairs and clothing are blowing due to the wind that the Bell makes with it's movement and sound........ is such a powerfull image. Also.... the fact that Oda decided to give Merry a reaction face the moment everyone realized that they were gonna fall was Amazing to me, these kinds of details really makes the world and the story feel more alive and fun. Yes, the pacing was definitely a big minus point to the enjoyment of Skypiea, but i guess we also have to appreaciate it..... after all....... it gets considerably worse later on xddd. Fuck......... yeah, im afraid you got a bit spoiled Mikey, you weren't supposed to know how Raftel is really pronounced until much MUUUUCH later. Granted.... it is just the name and you don't know the context about it so it's not too bad, but still.... it sucks nevertheless.

2024-11-02 01:32:15 +0000 UTCIs the Best Filler of the series, and it has a genuinely good story as well as a couple of really memorable characters (and some really well-animated moments). In fact..... it is kinda upsetting (in my opinion) that it isn't Canon, the quality of G8 as an Arc is adecuate enough to be part of the regular story. A word of advice (if you want it)..... don't be so judgemental on Filler episodes, there are times where the animes you watch contain some really good stories within them.

2024-11-02 00:23:07 +0000 UTCHonestly this is a fun arc with lots of world building. Its always interesting how many random things from later on get hinted during it. And I am not even talking the obvious stuff, but little random things like outfit colour or w.e (just an example, not an actual reference). I do agree with the pacing at times, I know I slowed my One Piece binge a bit during this arc. But over all it is a lot of fun. As for the name thing, don't worry about it. Its not really a spoiler since it was more a translation error and not necessarily an intentional obscuring of the name. For simplicities sake I say ignore the comments and just call things what they are called in the show when they are introduced (there is one exception to this rule) and if they change the spelling or pronunciation later then you can change then. Can't wait to see what you think of G8

2024-11-01 19:58:47 +0000 UTCYeah that Marine base is non-canon, is part of the irrelevant filler arc G8, would love it if you skip it, but people have convinced you to watch it, never understood why, instead of getting right into canon episode, than spend watching 10 episodes of filler.

2024-11-01 01:18:51 +0000 UTCWhile I definitely agree with the pacing issues myself, I overall enjoyed the arc, though as far as the larger arcs go, I'd still consider it one of the weaker ones. If I had to sum up why, it's because the whole thing is literally disconnected from the entire rest of the One Piece world. Like they got isekai'd into a whole other anime before returning back to their own. The worldbuilding is really good, just again, disconnected. I seem to recall the Raftel/Laugh Tale thing not being revealed until MUCH later, so yeah, I think you were spoiled a bit there.
