The way they are able to replicate the old cartoon style as well as parodying the movies at the time like Karate Kid and the other examples you listed makes this episode feel nostalgic and hilarious. So yes this is technically Sarah's introduction episode, even though we've seen her throughout the background multiple times, and even had a line in "The Voice" where Gumball apologizes for not knowing her name. It's weird continuity (even though this is an episodic show, so oh well), but despite that, yeah, this episode doesn't give her the best impression. it is interesting how Sarah makes herself part of Gumball and Darwin's lives through her antics; maybe she may have done it on purpose because she heard they were 'hardcore' and wanted to be part of their world since she is the new girl. The main stars are, of course, Carlton, Troy, and overall, the introduction of Richwood High (And also Omni-ma-I mean Mr.Kresse). They are, in fact, animated traditionally using pencil and paper, which just adds more to the authenticity of what they're meant to parody. It's also strange how they are, technically, the first humans we see on the show, which is not so surprising considering how different everyone else is in the show. I like the idea that Gumball's world is filled with varying amounts of cartoon art styles, with some residing in certain areas, and we've already seen this when visiting Idaho's family, and Juke mentioning Boomboxemburg. It seems like Elmore is one of the more unique towns that contain a diverse amount of cartoon citizens and species.
