Been watching your content for a few years now and I was so excited to see you start this series, so I'm really happy to see you enjoying it as much as you are. It's fun to revisit a childhood classic of mine through the lens of someone who's never seen it before.

The finale for this season tho? A banger. I usually dislike when shows get too meta but this show does it right. The start of season 3 I think really adds to the joke of the finale and how it ends.

2024-11-16 00:30:06 +0000 UTCThe World is a fun episode, just showing how wacky and full-on cartoony the entire world of gumball is. TAWOG does do some more of these 'Canterbury Tales' episodes across the series, and this is def one of my favorite ones. And you have finally reached the finale of the season where Gumball has to face his greatest threat yet... CONTINUITY!! I love that the show continues to poke fun at its formula, how it is an episodic cartoon show, and that all problems are resolved and forgotten about by the end of the episode, except for this one of course. There are so many great callbacks from Kenneth, Hector, the scooters, and more, it's all amazing. They even mentioned Mr. Small suing Gumball and Darwin because they locked him in a filing cabinet, giving him claustrophobia, which happened in 'The Sock' from season 1. There were plenty of small references near the end of the episode, too: "They dropped our baby!" in reference to the Pizza. "They Blew up my Head!" in reference to The Lesson. "They ran me over!" in reference to the Christmas episode. "They kicked me down a manhole!" said by Rob referencing The Pony. "They blew up my watch!" referencing The Watch. The characters did get a slight redesign after season 1, tweaking proportions, a less thick outline, and giving them more oval eyes. It's kinda wild looking back at Season 1 to now, the show changed so dramatically in a very good way, and to think this is only Season 2! I feel like the one thing I missed from Season 1 that doesn't continue in Season 2 was Tina's development. Season 1 did an amazing job with Tina, while Season 2 felt like they reverted her to being the bully character. but aside from that, everything is an upgrade from the art, animation, writing, plots, music, etc. Can't wait for you to get to season 3!
