So, little bit of trivia I don't see mentioned. The reason Luffy takes the flag. In the manga, Shelly does get shot. The reason Luffy fights Foxy is for Tonjit. He takes the flag and gives it to Tonjit to patch Shelly's injury up.

And sure... Luffy is already worn out by that point.... but Luffy is an All-or-Nothing fighter, so even if he's tired... all of his attacks are still really strong, all the more reason to really Respect our boy Foxy. Also i like to take this opportunity to tell you Mikey that this is the perfect point for you to watch the Sixth One Piece Movie called "Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island", which is my personal favorite OP Movie due to how different it is in terms of plot, tone and animation compared the main series or even the rest of the movies. Since you didn't make a reaction from the fourth movie "Dead End Adventure" i'll assume you're also not gonna do a reaction of this one, but even still i really recommend you watch it on your own, it is truly the most unique One Piece experience you're ever gonna get.

2024-12-28 00:12:06 +0000 UTCLike I said, I love this arc from beginning to end, even all the filler stuff in the middle. Hell, some of my favorite bits of this arc come from the filler. But to be honest, what even counts as 'filler' in an arc like this? Even Oda has gone on record saying this arc has basically nothing to do with the overall plot. It was just a fun diversion he really wanted to write about and I'm very glad he did. :)
