Gold Coin Roller

Hello Miniature Makers!

We've made it faster than ever to make some coin! Now in roller form with 3 different coin designs, you're able to mass produce all of the in-game currency you'll ever need... and then some.

The coin-cutter included will ensure that all of your freshly rolled coins will come out perfect each time!

We will be making Patreon-exclusive copper and silver versions of this as well.

The imperfections in the coins caused by the rolling and cutting process are perfect as they reflect the sort of impressions you would get in ancient hammer-forged coins.

Many thanks,

Justin and Simon

It says this folder is in the trash now?

Joey

What do you do for the other side?

Toasty Snailz

So, um ... you guys are giving us a LOT more files than I realized. I wasn't finding all that stuff in the Vault. WOW!

David Dickson

Hey David! You will find all of those files in your MMF library, under Vault Part 03. All of the weekly files are always added to the vault right away, and each vault part holds up to 25 models. Inside Vault Part 03, see the OBJECT PARTS drop-down to see all the models contained. Thanks!

Custom Miniature Maker

Just checking, when do the extras hit the MMF library? I haven't downloaded the coin roller or the campfire bits, nor the storage vault, because I thought they'd show up in my MMF library. I already have a bunch of stuff in there from you you guys so I know you have the correct email. Do you send the extras all at once the month after? Like, on October 2 you'll send out MMF library stuff for all the bits and freebies etc. released during September? I don't usually remember to go download one file here or there, so it's a huge help if it all makes it to MMF eventually without my having to follow a link etc. Thanks!

David Dickson

Okay thanks. I am using exactly the same setup you are using. Maybe it happened while moving the clay to a resting space

Paul P

Thanks for your kind words! Hmm I don’t find that it deforms much at all. What type of clay are you using? The main thing is to always have it stuck to something while it is drying. So to the board you rolled it on for bases and tiles and if you are making terrain you need to make sure it is well stuck to a frame. When the clay has a good foundation it doesn’t change much.

Custom Miniature Maker

Love your work and have already used a few of your rollers on two test forest tiles. Planning to do a big area next. How do you deal with deforming of clay when it dries. Especially with the lines it was prett dominant for me. Are there tips and tricks you are using to combat this, because I don‘t see it happening on yours?

Paul P

I made it so you could stick them back to back but as I want to make a lot I am just leaving the back blank. Adding a bit of texture to them with a rock or some foil is a great idea 😀

Custom Miniature Maker

Those are super cool! Any advice on what to do about the flat face on the bottom? Leave it as is, glue a couple of coins back to back, roll on a crumpled tin foil to have a bit of texture, or something else?

Worthstream

Simple is good too! We'll have to see, but I'm sure we can find a way to sneak them into the next update for this set :D Awesome to hear that you've been enjoying the rollers!

Custom Miniature Maker

Will the silver and copper versions be round coins? I'm sure that shape above is historically accurate but it looks more like a belt buckle or necklace clasp to me. I'm a simple guy! lol. Also, where should we post pics of your stuff? I had fun rolling out some tiles with the library set that I could share.

David Dickson

Yeah, I’m going to make the silver and copper ones to go with this for you guys. Will do more in the future as well, this was really to see if it worked… and it did! So we can do even more with rollers than I thought.

Custom Miniature Maker

This is really cool! I for one would be interested in a collection of coins from rollers. Do you intend to make more, including any round coins?

David Dickson
