Roll out some gold!

Hey Miniature Makers!

We put together a quick video to show you our recently released Gold Coin Roller and Cutter tools at work! You can get some really great results with only a few steps, and make your batch as big or small as you need.

Let's fill those satchels..Here are the steps!

Materials:

Tools:

Step 1:  Use the 6 Inch Flat Roller, and 0.5mm Spacers to roll out a flat and even clay surface to work with. Make sure the clay surface is wide enough for the roller to make sure none of the outer-edge coins get cut off.

Step 2: It helps to stand for this part :) Position the Gold coin roller at the very end of your clay surface, and use a firm but smooth motion to roll over the entire clay surface. Try to not let it roll backward as you reposition your hands, and maintain pressure towards the outer edges.

Step 3: Use your knife to cut off any edge bits you don't plan to use - This will help you focus on those perfect coins!

Step 4: Keeping the Gold Coin Cutter as flat as possible, position it over top of each coin, then press down firmly as straight as you can to fully separate the shape.

Step 5: Remove any remaining extra bits of clay around your coins, and if possible leave the coins where they are to avoid disturbing the shapes before drying.

Step 6: Ensure coins are completely dry - Rotate them once the top surface is firm to speed up the drying process.

Step 7: You can totally paint these up with any acrylic paint you have on hand, or use a can of spray primer like we did here!

That's all - Now step back and admire your splendor!

Comments

They are quite thin so the best way is to stick two back to back. If you don't want to do this though they work fine as one sided coins as well.

What about the other side of the coins? whats the best way to texture both sides?
