How Does it Work?
Prepare for battle Miniature Makers!! Vote in a new poll each month to go to battle for your favorite theme option. For Patrons and Tribers only, this is your direct line into the Custom Miniature Maker workshop. We want to hear what you want! The theme that receives the most votes wins, and we'll announce the winner shortly after the poll closes.
What if My Choice Doesn't win?
Themes that don't win will be put back into our growing list, and have the chance to return to battle again another month!
See you in a few days to confirm the Results!

Finger cross! It is time for Japaneese inspired themes ;)

2024-05-04 23:18:34 +0000 UTCI want them all! What a hard choice. I'm going with Carnival, as there are quiet a few graveyard & Samurai projects around. What would be awesome, would be a Gangs of Rome themed set!

2024-05-04 08:47:42 +0000 UTCLot of Japanese & Eastern themed campaigns out there at the moment, the Yokai could come in very useful.

2024-05-03 21:57:24 +0000 UTCThese are all incredible ideas. Definitely the one I've struggled the most in deciding my vote. Would love to see the ones that don't win come back in the future.

2024-05-03 20:23:51 +0000 UTCI see these problems as positives. If he has to do the work to go that mile, then we have put our trust in CMM before and it's turned out brilliant. At the very least, I've seen a lot of circus stuff from other creators. Other creators doing eastern off the top of my head cobra mode has a good bit, and there's a few sets by lord of the print I think. But not many full sets. Theres no eastern style terrain rollers that I can find, which is why I subscribed to cmm over others in the first place. I run DnD and frostgrave(in non winter Terrain types), also, so my needs fit differently than many like Warhammer I suppose

2024-05-03 19:37:23 +0000 UTCI really like the idea, but I have some issues with it: 1) If this gets chosen, CMM will probably have to do extra research to make sure they're being respectful and sensitive toward existing cultural traditions, whereas the carnival and the crypt (I really don't think we need a crypt right now - we just had a Cthulhu set and then Castle Raven) wouldn't really have to worry about that. Unless CMM, instead of doing a standard dilapidated amusement park, does an evil/twisted version of Brazil's Carnival, which I think would be a VERY interesting (if also sensitive) idea. Instead of Carnival being right before Ash Wednesday, imagine if it were the lead-in to a Slaanesh bacchanalia. Or a Cult of Rakdos spree of destruction. If CMM takes that approach and are able to do it right, I think it'd be one of the gutsiest, most ambitious terrain ideas I've ever seen from them. 2) A lot of these sets are plainly meant to be compatible with major wargames, and as you said, there's not a whole lot of space for Eastern-style campaigns, other than things like Legend of the Five Rings. In the biggest wargames, there aren't a lot of factions I can immediately think of that this would readily translate to. Grand Cathay wouldn't count since that's Chinese and not Japanese. 3) Edit: I was going to mention, if they do go with the yokai option and have traditional Japanese text on the torii and Shinto shrines, they'll want to make sure they're careful about use of typefaces (I messaged them a while back when part of their Eldartree Enclave had text that heavily resembled Tolkien's and I wasn't sure if that was a copyrighted typeface or not).

2024-05-03 18:54:46 +0000 UTCYokai all the way. There is such a limited space for eastern style campaigns, I would love to see it win.

2024-05-03 18:32:24 +0000 UTCThat's a good idea; Arkham Knight's Batgirl expansion (IMO the best of those DLCs) made good use of that. You could also recreate part of the first Rainbow Six novel.

2024-05-03 18:12:45 +0000 UTCGot to go with Midnight Carnival. I have wanted to redo my Batman table and what is more Gotham than a circus?

2024-05-03 18:00:00 +0000 UTCTough choice. Not surprised Yokai Temple (would be beautiful for a Legend of the Five Rings setting) and Midnight Carnival (sounds perfect for Slaanesh and is a kind of setting I almost never see terrain pieces for) are neck and neck.
