"You must construct additional pylons"

Hey Miniature Makers,

This week we are once again trying something a bit different. The idea behind this was to see how large of a terrain piece we could make using the minimum amount of filament or resin.

The perfect model for this is an electrical pylon which ties in perfectly with this month's Fallout Ruined Republic Print 'n' Roll Set.

The full pylon stands 46cm tall but only uses a very small amount of material to make.

FDM

The whole set is made to print in FDM without any supports with sides of the stricture printing as flat panels. These need to then be glued together to make the full structure. We also included an optional platform so that you can make the pylon into more playable terrain.

Resin

It is optimized to print in resin in segments rather than flat pieces allowing for easy construction.

Printing

We also included 3 and 4 bolt panels so you can add some riveting goodness to the pylon should you wish.

There are lists of which parts you need for FDM and Resin in the download folders.

They come laid flat for FDM and Fully Pre-supported for Resin printing.

Now added to your MMF library for July

Keep on Rollin'

Comments

Thank you for thinking about the humble pylon, because I just love me some K-bracing! There is a lot of hatred shown toward pylons in the UK but from an engineering standpoint the multitude of designs to suit different wind- and ice-loads is quite interesting.
