October 2022 Patreon Update/Newsletter
Added 2022-10-20 19:23:09 +0000 UTCHey Skip Introverts!
If you’re reading this, that’s because you are a patron! This channel would not be possible without your amazing support, and it certainly wouldn’t be as well-researched and in-depth. Thank you for doing that, it’s really nice!
Every month (other than last month, shh) I put out a newsletter like this one, updating you all on the state of the channel, Patreon, and the copaganda series. I’ve been doing a ton of research and you can find a full reading list for this video (and the others in the series attached in this post). The reading list is broken down by episodes, but some of what I’m researching now will find its way into any one of the next 3 copaganda videos.
In the last month and a half, I’ve put out two videos, on PAW Patrol and The Rehearsal, and I am hoping to have a third out at the end of the month about Mike Flanagan and his approach to horror TV on Netflix. I call it Flanaganabonanza!
In the meantime, I’m preparing for a Copaganda episode in November on Top Gun: Maverick or We Own This City/Line of Duty, depending on how much research I can get done before then.
I asked you all for feedback last month, and it seems like you really just want to be more in-touch with my research process and to casually cover more TV shows. CJ and I will get our act together and finish The Americans Recap Podcast at some point, I promise. In the meantime, I’ll try to add a post a month that is either discussing some piece of news/research or giving some kind of review for a show!
This Sunday (10/23) will be the live Q&A, I’ll post a thread where you can post your questions separately, as always.
Lastly, I wrote my monthly TV roundup covering everything I watched in September. I like doing these to quickly touch on everything I’m watching, so let me know if you’re interested in any of these shows and I can talk more about them either in Q&As or possibly video essays!

For a somewhat different take on copaganda, you should definitely check out the Canadian series Flashpoint. It's about a SWAT-type LEO team, and they make a big deal nearly every episode about de-escalating situations, and how resorting to lethal force is considered a failure. They still manage to shoot a lot of people on the show, though, just not as many as American copaganda episodes.
