Also, I'm excited to see if any of the future videos will compare the show to Veep. I've never seen the West Wing, and I've never been in the White House, but I imagine Veep is a more accurate portrayal of D.C.

Been slowly showing my wife the series and it is really starting to feel dated. I've noticed a lot more criticism of the West Wing in the last few years as people turn away from its sentiments.

I've never watched the West Wing but I'm a huge fan of the stuff I've watched from sorkin, I was a sucker for the newsroom back when it was coming out. Obviously these last few years and with my ideology moving to the left over the year I realize how it's also very ideallist and removed from reality

Unless it's something stupid like "in real life the batsignal wouldn't work!" If it concerns the larger narrative a show or movie is perpetuating then they accept it at face value or even just warp it to fit their own ideas about how the world "should" work.

God, do I wish I could find I a single thing you said that isn't true. (oh, here's the small one - at 10:54, it seems to me that what bartlett leaves unsaid is 'what does it mean if we're not also the world's church' since the issue was over accepting christian refugees)
