Man of the House V0.8.3 (test version)

I agree with the reasoning, just I got used to using choices as save points for games, but this system works and I just found a repeat loop having Veronica do laundry in the maid uniform. Take her to room and select spank and the whole loop repeats. It does say test so it's all good, just don't spank and keep going.

Thanks, Saving in dialog this has been blocked intentionally, as it would make the game very easy, to save at every choice and just keep reloading to influence RNG and/or correct guesses. See my other comment about the rollback feature above yours.

Well I'm glad I took the time to read the other comment. I have become a fan of this game and was stuck on Veronica bug. I worked around it, but it felt like I was missing something. The new UI is nice, since I can look at the contacts/hints without going to the phone. The only issue I have is not being ability to save during text. Even so still enjoying the game.

Exactly, the "punishment/reward" of having to wait another day/week and having to do it over "correctly' adds the feeling that you're actually playing a game (to me at least)! :)

Thats completley understandable about the roll back function! Also, when people use the roll back just to choose the most rewarding answer, I feel like, it kinda takes away from the immersion.

Thanks Xzdus, yeah Veronica had a few (big) bugs, I fixed those and for the update on November 2nd all should be ok again. The alarm clock can be replaced by another one from the mall, which is a bit easier on the ears, but it isn't on the test version ;) A roll back function for choices will not be implemented as that doesn't really fit the semi-sandbox approach of the game in my opinion (opposed to a linear VN).

I agree that the UI looks great and I really enjoy having the tracking system. Sadly, I was also have serious problems with Veronica bugging out and frezzing up my game. The only way I could get it back working was by force quitting the game, loading back in at an older save, and really just trying to stay away from her as much as I could. Also, is there anyway we could have a roll back wheel? I ask because I kept clicking the wrong answer choices everytime I was trying to get back to the part of the game I was in when it froze up? Lastly, are you going to incorrporate slide bars for the volume levels in the settings? I enjoy all of the sound effects, but that alarm clock was brutal lol. I, no doubt, love this game! I cant wait for the update to drop! Keep up the great work!

Sure. I would be happy to be included. In fact I was about to report the fact if you don't already know that in 8.3 the MC cannot take Veronica out on a date because the clothing store is inoperable and he cannot buy workout clothes for yoga or a tuxedo for the expensive restaurant or the museum.

Yes, the reported bugs for Veronica have almost been finished and I'm almost done with Claire too. But it's not a matter of redownloading it again, I need to do a new build as well. I plan on releasing v0.8.3. on the 2nd of November, by then the bugs should be gone. This is the first time I have released a test version, because of the size of the update, normally I just release full updates (that have been tested by a closed test team). However, if you would like to help me testing some more, let me know and I could include you in the test team, if you like.

After a few days of playing the game (8.2 extra) I have completed all achievements. I used 250 days, but I fast-forwarded through a week or so a time or two near the end. I had to use the walkthrough by Carlo S. for the dates, but other than that the hints in the game and the cheats helped for the most part. The beta version of 8.3 I tried a little but I found it too buggy to tolerate at this point especially considering that Veronica is the only female character with full content and she locks up sometimes at dinner and nearly always in her room. My question is whether the beta version has been improved at all in the last couple of days? Would it be worth it to re-download?

Hi Jonas, good points. The subway would be a lot of work, as I'd have to create a new layer of paths just for that. But I do agree, it would be a nice touch.

The new interface is great. I would add a change button by the girls you are following so it's quicker to switch. I like your animations for travel, but as a very minor detail I would animate the subway differently: meandering walk, wait, straight line train ride, wait, new train ride and a walk to the final destination - nitpicking, but when the basics are so polished you think about details.

Good to see that people here are aware of that 8.3 is a test version. Have been reading some of the stuff on F95 and I can't belive how stupid some are. Just keep on with your good work Faerin, don't let those people get to you. And to all of you who are testing now: good job!

Hey William yeah one of the spying scenes with her is bugged, for now you can skip it and use the other hint to increase her stats. The other stuff you mentioned are all not updated yet, as only Veronica's changes have been implemented in the test version.

i got stuck on V' when spying on her early, so that blocks her game progression plus C' isn't showing on rooftop neither is V' showing in her room when want to give her maids dress. plus i can't talk to anyone on weekend when doing yoga boss. and A' doesn't show up after horror movie. only a few bugs so far Boss.

I'm sticking with 8.2 until 8.3 is ready. I like to avoid betas especially ones with the warning you issued about 8.3. One question about 8.3. Will he be able to get private yoga lessons from Emma? It seems like a logical source. It also seems like he needs to take self defense lessons from someone, maybe officer Debbie. He has lost two fights and had to employ the taser numerous times as I have him travel at night in 8.2.

No you haven't, the family yoga event hasn't been further implemented yet. And in the current (test) version, only Veronia's content is working, so I would stay away from Claire/Amy/etc. for now (or play v0.8.2 in which you can complete all their storylines.

Cool! Say, have I missed some key event to keep me from progressing with yoga lessons beyond the Saturday morning warm up? I haven't had more than one Saturday swimming event with Mom, but I now need to concentrate on her because to advance Veronica I need to progress with Amy and in order to progress with Amy I have to progress with Mom. Those tips are very handy.

In 8.2 I have noticed a small glitch. If the MC opts not to go swimming and eats breakfast alone rather than with Mom and Ashley he cannot select "No. I already ate breakfast. The only working option is, "No. I'm not that hungry." Maybe you will have corrected that in 8.3 full release. By the way I am opting out of swimming a few times to have Sunday "lessons" for Ashley and Sophia.

I didn't touch the stats in the console, I just kept visiting her before work and then picked her up at Neon.. somehow I ended up at 19 love.

Hi Cor, try lowering her love stat to 15 with the cheat console, that should do it. How did it go over that, did you use the cheat or an event that raised it further?

How far can you progress Veronicas story? It seems I can't trigger her catching me spying on mom so I'm stuck there..

Removing the patch file didn't help. This bug also only started to occur after I saved and closed the game and then continued with the saved game. Until then, I didn't have any problems and talked to Veronica multiple times at night.

I got that bug as well, but it only started to do that after I added the patch from my previous version. I'm going to try and get rid of the patch and see if that changes anything.

howdy, I think I have found a bug when you peek in on veronica the second time, it freezes on the tile that says 'damn she is so hot'. its happened twice to me.

Hey Daniel, the mall hasn't been updated yet, for now you can just use the cheat console to increase your charisma to 10, that should do the trick!

Hi Faerin. I'm trying to improve Mike's charisma but I can't buy parfume as before. I think the mall has a bug. I bought the babydoll in the bookstore xD and it gave 5 points, but Mike needs 10 to be able to enter the club. Any guide? Greetings!

I have bug, maybe. On the first day after I bring the milk and after dinner Mike need go to sleep, But I can´t go anywhere from the stairs. Ist there two arrows (Upstair, Foyer) but if I click on anathing I recieve this sentence :I´ m pretty tired, let´sgo to bed. I don´t know how to leave this screen.

A hint is missing after taking Veronica out of police, I've done that part for a long time and I do not remember how to continue with her story.

Tracking girls is good, I liked it. Enviroment sound in city map is nice too. And the new tips help a lot.

Hi Jim, today's release is the test version of a huge update, in which I am addressing these kind of things. Veronica's storyline and progression have been improved a lot in the latest version, but as you are pretty new to the game, it might be better (more fun) to just play v0.8.2 first until you have seen most of it. Do note that you will need to start over for v0.8.3 as so much has changed (normally you can just copy saves).

I have been playing this for free for a day or two, so I decided to become a $10 patron for now. I may increase that later. I must say you provide a ton of content in your game. It's rather time consuming though. I started play ignoring Veronica, but I have been correcting that today. I now have her doing chores for him. If there isn't already there should be a point where when Female head of house thanks him for helping here he should have the option of saying, "Thanks, but Veronica deserves some credit too. She has been helping with those chores too." This would be an opportunity to gain points with Veronica as well as improve control over her. That's how I see it anyway.
