Cross-promotions?
Added 2020-02-18 12:34:41 +0000 UTCHey guys,
I regularly get asked by other developers to do a cross-promotion (I share their Patreon page with you and they share mine with their Patrons).
I know this can help increase my patron count, but I don't want you guys to feel like I am "spamming" you with game suggestions either.
So I would like to ask you how you would feel about it if I would do this say once or twice a month?
Thanks for the feedback!

I must admit that I rarely find new games/artists in the cross promotions. Either I am too jaded or I have just tried a lot of games.

2020-02-18 20:51:13 +0000 UTCThank Tao, I have actually considered that as well. Right now it's "just" MwM and there isn't a lot of content yet. Then again, I do hope with the next update to show something quite unique and if people don't like it now, chances are they won't like it later (e.g. only here for porn and can't appreciate a story/gameplay). But I will take it into consideration for sure.

2020-02-18 18:51:16 +0000 UTCYou are close to the top few of developers that i support, in terms of the triple of quality, content and productivity. A lot of the less good and less productive devs rely on this a lot, and most of them seem to be focusing on getting their patrons to stump up $20+ per month. I would advocate holding off for a couple of months, unless you are looking to get more traffic to view MotH either here or on Steam. I would say you need a bit more playable content in MWM before pushing it via other devs if you want to keep patrons once they have come over and had a look. It's good, but a lot of players seem quite demanding, particularly those looking for other fetish content to make up for the content lost through Patreon's recent actions.

2020-02-18 18:15:37 +0000 UTCAs I have said before Faerin, your a hell of a great artist and you've go great instincts. I trust your opinion and I have wound up supporting other artists you have recommended. If it's good enough for you to mention, I trust it is at least worth my time to look. hell, the reason I came to become a patreon of yours was because of a recommendation from another artist I still support. In the end, it doesn't change the fact that as long as your here, I'll always support you.

2020-02-18 18:14:06 +0000 UTCThanks for the input. Well my Patron number has been pretty stagnant for the last year or so. So hopefully I'll be able to get some more expore this way as well.

2020-02-18 16:31:00 +0000 UTCI don't mind honestly. You have a large patron base already so it may be more beneficial to the other dev than you. I just hope they don't spam you asking for promotions.

2020-02-18 16:07:08 +0000 UTCThanks Jester! While it may not always be the type of game/content everyone prefers, I will at least try to verify the quality level of it before sharing.

2020-02-18 15:42:24 +0000 UTCGood games with adult content are hard to find, and I think both developers and fans of such games need to support each other if we want to see more of them be made and be successful. As long as there's some QA in what you're promoting, I'm good with it!

2020-02-18 15:20:57 +0000 UTCThanks for the feedback, Troik. I agree with you said: I would only promote devs when it is beneficial to both them and me (roughlyl the same Patron count), and I wouldn't promote games I consider bad either (then again, these probably wouldn't have much Patrons in the first place).

2020-02-18 14:33:29 +0000 UTCI think about two things: 1) You don't go asking around other devs for this. They come to you. So it's more likely than not, smaller devs that just write the 10 (or whatever number) biggest developers in this field in hopes for exposure. So it helps them a lot more than it helps you. 2) These cross-promotions *were* pretty rare from the developers I personally follow, so when I got a suggestion, I actually look at the game and see if I will like it. that's why these cross p̶̵̶o̶̵̶l̶̵̶l̶̵̶i̶̵̶n̶̵̶a̶̵̶t̶̵̶i̶̵̶o̶̵̶n̶̵̶s̶ Promotions work. But I think most of us follow not just you, but a few developers, so if now all of them would start doing this twice a month, it get a new mail like that every other day and then I'd perceive it as spam and just delete it. my point: It only works because it is rare and not everybody is doing it. So imho, just posting ever promotion that comes along, might be counter-productive, ideally I would like you to be the judge here and see if you like the art-style or type of game. If you wouldn't play it, why should we? (telling some devs they just aren't good enough might be tough though, but hey, if having a business would be easy, everybody would be doing it)

2020-02-18 13:59:10 +0000 UTCas long as the post is not exclusively about cross-promotion, I have no problem with that. But if there is a promo in every post, I find it annoying in the long run. ( but in general I don’t care, I personally don’t read these promos most of the time)

2020-02-18 13:26:40 +0000 UTCI like it, it helps me find new devs to support and new games to play.

2020-02-18 12:46:39 +0000 UTCI don't like it, but it's your page and entirely up to you. (I always seem to be in the minority.)
