If you could choose the next game 1/2...

Hey guys.

Now that Mystwood Manor is slowly approaching a final release, I'd like to start gathering some input on your preferences for my next game.

So, if you would like to help me decide, please answer these questions:
(Note: I will also post a public version of this post, of course the votes in this one will weigh heavier)

1. I prefer a game with:
a) Little/no gameplay, just a straight up visual novel focusing purely on story and graphics.
b) Some light gameplay, maybe some mini-games or exploration, like Man of the House.
c) A moderate amount of gameplay, resource management/simulation, like Mystwood Manor.
d) An "actual" game (done well) with sex scenes as rewards, (for instance, a turn-based RPG  with skill trees,  a strategy game etc.).

2. To me, the sexual content is:
a) The most important, it's why I'm here!
b) Very important, but there has to be appeal to the story and/or gameplay as well.
c) Less important, I play the game for the story and/or gameplay, the sex scenes are just a bonus.
d) I couldn't care less about them.

3. I prefer the game to be:
a) Linear, I want to play it once in a clear order, and get to see all the content.
b) Linear, but with multiple paths/endings, requiring multiple playthroughs with different content.
c) Sandbox: I want to roam around the map and choose what to do and when to do it.

4. I would rather have:
a) 3-5 characters with a lot of depth and character development, each with a large amount of sex scenes.
b) 6-10 characters, with moderate depth and character development, each with a moderate amount of sex scenes.
c) 10-20 characters, with very little depth and each with just a few sex scenes.

5. The setting/theme of the game should be:
a) Contemporary: I like real-life situations.
b) Fantasy: I like games that focus on things that would never happen in real life. Magic, fantasy creatures, etc.
c) Historical: Ancient Rome/Egypt, the Middle Ages, that sort of stuff.
d) Sci-fi: I want a game in outer space, with alien planets and races.

6. In my ideal game, the girls would have sex with:
a) Just me.
b) Me, and each other.
c) Other men as well.

7. Should the MC and the main characters be part of the same household?
a) Yes, MILF and some younger girls is still the way to go (e.g. MotH and MwM).
b) No, something different would be nice for a change.
c) I don't care, as long as the story is good.

I seem to have reached the maximum size for a poll, so the final question can be found here.

8. Is there anything else you would like to add? Now's your chance to comment!

Thanks a lot for your time and feedback everyone!

A few months from now, I'll post a selection of game concepts (based on the feedback from this poll) for you to vote on.

I don't disagree with you. I also enjoy revisiting a great book, movie or game I love. The difference is WHY I'm doing it. Reliving a great experience because I want to experience it again is fine. Sitting through hours of repetition just to try to locate content I missed out on the first (or second or third, etc.) time though is just torture. As I said in another post, I'm fine with alternate paths as long as it's clear where the paths diverge so I can save there, then go back and play on from that point. This avoids having to replay everything that came before over and over again just to get to that point.

I don't like harem endings. They are just too much and always kills some of the realism the game has. Luckily MoTH, for example, had options to have single character -endings (and also harem).

AGREE! Too many great games get ruined when a creator feels the need to pander to the kinks of a certain small but vocal minority of supporters ("Dark Routes", NTR, futanari, femdom, watersports, etc.) and the game becomes overwhelmed by those elements.

Guess we're different. I"m more about the storyline if it's good enough just like a good book I can read or replay over and over. Guess you never liked the Encyclopedia Brown or Choose Your Own Adventure books I enjoyed alot in my childhood

The harem ending is the ONLY ending I care about. I don't like having to choose between my girls and I will almost never complete/replay a game with too many multiple endings because (a) I have too many other games to play and nowhere near enough free time and (b) needless repetition is, for me, the seventh circle of Hell. If I have to replay a game several times in order to see all of the content, I am either going to be bored and/or end up hating it for that reason alone.

For me the best story in Man of the House is Veronica and in MwM I really like Kay, but is not Veronica slave story. All other story is also very good, but I said my prefer for maybe have more :)

Cool with the ability to add input and suggestions! What i really hope though is that you make the game you want to make, in the style and setting with mechanics you want to make. I think thats what turns some games great, when the creator gets to do what they feel like.

I also comment here because I became a patreon: I would love a bit of NTR (avoidable if you do the right choices), for example in MwM I would have loved to see the two male guests (father and son) banging the milf.

on second thought a harem ending isn't completely necessary. After all, "Melody" doesn't have a harem ending, but you can get a foursome near the very end so a harem ending isn't totally necessary

don't know this one sounds good

I really enjoy MotH and MwM. But the game/VN, I've enjoyed most and played through multiple times because of it's characters and multiple endings is "Melody" So a story with different endings and endings with different girls is nice. Multiple endings I think is the best as long as one is a harem ending. To have endings with different girls singularly, but also a harem ending would be ideal because of replayability in my book

Thanks for taking the time to craft so detailed a survey. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes from this and the other parts of the survey I will be responding to shortly!

For question 6, we see NTR fans. It's simple the next one and in NTR, I stop the contributions and I move on, unless the NTR and not mandatory.

"light of my life" is a great example of a story building up, with sympathetic characters
