(Public) What will be my next game?

Hey guys, based on the feedback of the last few polls, I have made a selection of ideas for my next game.

It's a too bit long for this post (sorry about that), so you can read it here.

I would be interested in a poll that showed how many Man of the House 2 votes had Paintings as a second favorite. I personally feel like paintings could be a Mistwood Manor 2 as the original mothers husband was the painter of his daughters, but now a cycle is beginning again as the decedents of his original models are reborn everyone engages in a mystery as to why there are 300 yo paintings of these seemingly strangers.

would have to be able to vote for fantasy kingdom and -rpg, but then i read about fighting and with the expirience of fighting-systems in similar games in the past years, where they drop cards and walk criss-cross over the battlefield and shorten the way, their companions could go, or hinder them to use their abilities, i turned them down

Damn, no love for heists here is there? I suppose the idea's kind of linear, but man, Heists are the best. Plus, women in skin tight catsuits

I really like the idea of paintings. You can still develop the relationship with people in the real world while getting to see a bunch of different settings and themes with said characters. Gameplay wise I love rpg's like the fantasy rpg, but I still lean more to the concept of paintings.

MOTH2 was always going to top the others, because that's where your fanbase sits in terms of game style. I prefer Paintings as I like the idea of multiple styles in one game, and the Paintings idea is a good twist on StarGates and other portals between different realities.

If you actualy can hire 1-2 people that surely helps and that would be great. My assumption was that 1.5k patreons is very solid to cover your own expenses and such and gives you some back up aswell (calculated with 5 dollars average pledge). But that it will also get much more tight if you hire someone else full time. Even better if your situation is easier as that and hopefully the steam release will have great sales also : )

Man of the House 2 sounds the least enticing of all the options, because it seems like more of the same you get from almost every other adult game. The other options sound unique and interesting. I like all of the rest.

Paintings. It's different. I can see MoTH2 is running away with it, but I like the time-travel aspect & relationship building opening up other in other painting's settings, and places with different people.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure what makes you think I can't hire additional people. I'm actually considering bringing on 1-2 people for the new game.

That were my concerns aswell. Given that Faerin cant hire additional people (hard to imagine with current number of patreons) the scope and complexity of these concepts probably wont have a good result even if the developement is stretched in time. It reminds me of triple A games with open worlds that fail because they want too much. In regards to that i would always value quality (not mainly from a technical point of view but from a creative one !) over quantity. Moth 2 makes it easiest to focus on surpreme quality on the writting (and unique renders) instead of having to deal with a shitload of complex gameplay systems that needs bugfixes all the time. Faerin can always focus on the writting and charakter developement in the first place and can enrichen it later with small gameplay portions without weakening the main strength of the game. MWM was a bit unsatisfying mixture from that point of view and felt a bit generic in some parts. So to summ it up: A new game will have the biggest impact the more unique and creative the writting and the characters are. We all know characters from games that will stick in our head forever. You should aim for that instead of doing gameplay systems that in no way can compete with other games. So make the core characters as much different as possible (personality and body types and lookings), make them go through unique and interesting life changes and situations and have the highest possible render quality and you will have a great basis for a long developement.

I like the concepts for Fantasy Kingdom & RPG as well as Heist (which reminds me of The Clou) but frankly, I doubt a single developer could pull that off in any reasonable amount of time ^^ Seeing as MotH2 is currently leading, I'd wish that every girl implemented has content. In MotH, there were several who you met, even had in the phone gallery, but who never got content of any kind. Also, and it would be a novelty, the women should play a more pro-active role. In games as these, it's always the man who essentially does the "work", doing the sweet-talking or commanding or manipulating to get the various women into bed. In a reversed situation, it could be the woman coming in, doing the seducing and then taking what she wants, demanding to be pleasured. One example of that would be Ashley's action during the beach scene with Sophia. Ashley wanted pleasure too, so she sat on his face to get it

Heist/Painting seems original, those gets my vote. I would still probably enjoy a MotH2 but I'd rather see your other ideas come to life as well as MotH already has.

Don't think I've ever seen a game dedicated to the heist concept. So that gets my vote.

All of them sound fine to me, Paintings sounds intriguing as a concept, but i do like games with Kingdom building and the political aspects. If you do go for MotH 2 then can we please have Amy back as a character.
