Update + Some Patreon changes

Hi friends!
Some important news re: this Patreon and my life for the past bit, since it's been a bit of a silence here.
Prints
First, the what: I'll be adjusting some of my tiers–namely, removing some things from them. The biggest thing is that I'll be stopping physical prints for the foreseeable future. I'll be replacing them, instead, with sketch commissions, as I currently have more time to take care of that then I do resources to print and mail out prints every month.
The actual reason for this will come in a bit but another important factor is that it just stopped being financially reasonable at the current tier pledge. Printing and shipping everything cost around $350 every month, which is about a fifth or sixth or whatever of my monthly income. It's a fair cost if this was like, a business but that's a chunk out of like... my rent income, my food income, my operating income, and my savings income. The tier is only really feasible if a huge number of people pledge to it since it pads out the money I need to set aside for shipping. (the real killer in all of this)
Instead, I'll be replacing this with digital commission work. This is initially what I offered and just couldn't commit to since I had a full-time job alongside my Patreon but now that that is no longer the case, I can focus on this and solely this and do cool sketches for everyone. <3 I'll have more info on that when it launches next month
If you pledged to the print tier this month, you will still get your prints. They will be the last ones ever, so I'll make sure it's something special. <3
Patreon Changes / Life Stuff
I'll be adjusting some other tiers and rewards starting next month, too. It will be more reflective of what my current schedule and what my output will be in the coming months. Namely, you can expect to see the store discount go away as I am also phasing that out. I'm working to replace this (with something hopefully better for all involved) so more info on that when it comes, too.
Additionally, sorry for how quiet I've been on the art front! The truth is that I ran into a bit of a finance wall and had to put Project Starchild on hold to take some contract work. The first was doing some asset work for Heaven Will Be Mine, which releases TODAY on Steam and all other services! BUY IT PLS
The second is a secret project but I am SUPER HAPPY TO BE ONBOARD FOR IT. I was asked to do the art for a thing and it's an intersection of many things I love so I look forward to that being in the open and y'all will be the first to hear about it when that's the case. <3
Both of those things have been eating up my time, along with a lot of personal life stuff that I'm sure most of you are aware of by now. 💖
The Actual Big Life Stuff
A lot of my time this past month, in addition to contract work, has been sorting out legal documents to make sure everything is in order for my visa. It's not something that's especially hard to figure out, even if I've been real secretive of it. I'll be traveling to Seattle for PAX this year and will be in the city until the end of this year. When I get back to Montreal in January, I'll be tying loose ends to move to Japan--permanently, this time.
This is the actual reason things are gonna change so much here. With no actual home address to ship things out from, I'll have no way to make Patreon-exclusive prints, nor will I be able to operate my own shop. It's all for the better, though, since the move will let me a) have more time to work on art stuff and b) be able to operate way easier since the cost of living in Japan is like, half of what it is here. It'll let me focus on things that are more important to me right now, like character art and photography, and hopefully mix both in really fun ways.
The Summary
This got long-winded but basically--I'll be living out of a suitcase for the next 5 months or so and then I will be settled across the world once again, for good this time. Some things will change here but they will hopefully be for the better and in a way that I hope reinvigorates me a little. I've felt like I've been in a bit of a slump.
I'll resume Project Starchild soon and that will be pretty much all my work for the next few months. I'll have news on that soon when I have it. <3
I am also going to try and bring dailies back, though probably in the form of weeklies right now since it's what I feel more comfortable committing to. Either way I want some kind of regular art flow back.
Thanks for sticking around and I hope y'all continue to in the future. 💖I promise plenty of cool art and, hopefully, other exciting things are to come.
