New Look! New Feature!

Hi Patrons! 

You'll notice some things are different 'round here! For one, new look! Thought I'd freshen things up and opt for a different theme this time. That comes with the big announcement (I guess?) which is:

Discord!

That's right! Anyone pledging $10 or more now has access to the Academy Discord! Make sure your Discord is synched in your profile settings! (If it already is, double-check wherever you need to--I'm not sure where'd that'd be--to get in! It might ask you next time you log into Discord.) 

At the entry level, you'll get access to the homeroom and critique classroom, where you can all share each other's art and seek feedback from myself and your fellow Patron members. You can also discuss whatever inspires you, even if you're not necessarily an artist! Compose music? Write? S'alright! All kind of creative endeavors are welcome here.

At the $20 and higher level, you'll get access to the Lecture Hall, where every Wednesday night (Pacific Standard Time) I'll hop in and do a Q&A for an hour or so! It can be about art or just... whatever. The goal is to share tips with y'all or just kinda talk about whatever! Have questions about my art? How to do a specific thing? Want more in-depth critique on yoru work? Here's the place for it! 

Why $10 minimum? Why only two channels?

The honest to goodness truth is... y'all probably don't need another Discord server. Like if you're anything like me, you probably have like 6-10 and you check maybe ONE of them regularly. And that's ok!! 

I don't want the server to be another just... kinda forced community. I don't want to build one around me, I don't want to build one around my art. There's enough of that and, frankly, I'm not interested in that to begin with. 

I want to build something that's focused on y'all, your art, and helping each other. Putting it at a slightly higher tier means it'll automatically not float in the hundreds it normally would, but it also means that I can focus the server a bit more. I want y'all to feel like it's worth being in the server! Not just another thing you add to the sidebar and immediately mute.

That's also why there's no general chat, games chat, voice channels, etc. You're free to talk about whatever, but it's there for art. Think of it like... homeroom. It's the place you go to do work but also talk with your classmates and friends.

Sorry, I needed a divider. That's basically it! Art will still be continuing as usual otherwise. This is just something new that I know some of y'all have been asking about and I hope that it becomes something people enjoy.
