Avalon is the scabbard of Arthuria. To summon a heroic spirit for the war, you generally need an artefact, something that belonged to the hero when they were alive. Of course something that belonged to a strong hero, is more valuable. Here using Avalon to heal Iris is good and bad at the same time, it heals her, but Saber can't use it as it's necessary for one of her attacks (you won't see it in Fate/zero). Kiritsugu made that choice nonetheless because (if I remember well it's been like 10 years lol) Iris is close to the end of her homonculus lifespan, the scabbard basically supports her for now.

2023-10-25 10:30:59 +0000 UTCArchibald blocked the bullet, you can see it in 15:46. That bullet wasn't stronger than the previous one that passed Archibald defense, it was from the same weapon. The bullet is an anti-mage attack because it destroys their magic circuits, disabling them and destroying their magic (forever I believe). It's apparently extremely painful. Kiritsugu wanted him to focus his magic on defense when he fired it because the more concentrated magic that bullet touches, the more effective it is. Otherwise he could have used it from the start. It's meant to destroy mages, it wouldn't have made more damage to a normal person.
