Rimuru's army were under orders not to kill anyone who was uninvolved or weren't attacking them. That's why Ranga was "playing" with them. He got a little carried away, he overestimated his opponents' durability, and he actually thought the enemy was "playing" too. The only thing the left out from what was in the novel is that Ranga was throwing the people into a pile with his paws, he was using them as chew toys, and Grigori was a bit more beaten-up than they showed. It would have been funnier with all that. Oh well. A minor disappointment, because I had been looking forward to that scene. Ranga had been warned ahead of time not to go overboard or Rimuru would be angry. Remember after that battle both Hinata and Rimuru are in a weakened state. Then the Seven Days show up on cue. Accidentally? I don't think so. Also, so far, Rimuru has lost Belzebuth, one if his main assets in battle, and holy magic is not his forte. He just sacrificed the defense of Beelzebub because of a Holy attack. Now what can he do in the face of a future Holy attack? The spiritual particles in Holy magic are not magicules.

2024-08-26 18:10:10 +0000 UTCThe ten Saints are indeed of the Enlightened (Sage) class. This is roughly equal to an unawakened Demon Lord Seed (or Factor). So they aren't that strong. They use the holy attribute which has a different composition from magicules and they have pact with Elemental-lord level spirits with other attributes like fire. They have virtual spiritual armor as well. Hinata is awakened, (a True Saint) but it can take centuries to fully evolve her body to a spiritual being, unlike awakened Demon Lords. However, her body is developing with the holy attribute not with magicules, which is why her body is rejecting the magicules. Again, Holy Magic is not made up of magicules. The Holy Spirit is the original armor that only few can use, and it temporarily levels her up to being closer to a fully-developed Saint. Just as Demon Lord can be a catch-all term for Demon Lord Seeds and True Demon Lords, Saint is also a catch-all term. For Demons, the terminology is not what they use in the official English translation of the light novels. Beginning with Archdemons: 1. Archdemons-- get and maintain one's magicule capacity to the maximum. Demons have a set limit. 2. Demon Lord (meaning Demon Lord Seed or Factor)-- maintain that maximum level for 2000 years without dying. Can now manifest Demon Lord Presence (this is Lord's Ambition). 3. Daemon Lord (aka Demon Peer) . A trigger is necessary. At least in Diablo's case his naming brought him here. He says there's not much difference between 2 and 3. 4. True Demon Lord (awakened Demon Lord, Devil Lord). It's the souls. This is Guy's level. Note: True strength depends on age as well. This mostly holds true for Archdemons, who are are categorized by their age as undefeated. Since advancing requires maintaining max magicule capacity for 2000 years, any loss means starting over. ............... Note2: I copied this from a place where I had saved this information for easy access, but it's an early version. I know I could have done better. For instance, advancement as a Demon Lord and awakened Demon Lord (Steps 2 and 4), is separate from the race evolutions (1 and 3), so they don't strictly proceed in this order. Acquiring a permanent physical body has no effect on either category, it just gives them more freedom. Demon Peers have multiple steps like Baron, Duke, and the like. The Demon Hunter realized Diablo (a) talked about Rouge and Blanc without honorifics, so they had to be equal, and (b) was at least capable of the Demon Lord Presence. Later, Saare realized that Diablo was (a) named with a master, and (b) a Daemon Lord (Demon Peer), a supposedly legendary existence. A Demon's strength is magic. It is second-nature to them. As an old one, Diablo has great understanding and control. And most of Rimuru's upper-level subordinates have Thought Acceleration and/or Cast Cancel, All of Creation, and some sort of Analysis Skills, probably included in a Unique Skill. The Falmuth Army is what was left over in Falmuth after all the decent troops were killed in Tempest.

2024-08-26 17:54:59 +0000 UTCYes, you saw the guy with the long ponytail before. This was Damrada, one of the Eastern merchants. Two episodes ago, he was speaking with the Rozzo family. He was identified as not only a merchant but also as one of the three heads of the underground group Cerberus, based in the East, with tendrils in the West. For that reason, the Rozzo's couldn't offend them too much. But they had gone over the plan: ideally to get rid of obstacle Rimuru and Hinata, because they were a threat to each of them in different ways. The Rozzo's didn't want Falmuth to be essentially taken over by a Demon Lord, and they didn't like what Rimuru was doing all by himself with his country in Tempest. At this point, the East was just trying to make money off war. So Damrada’s assignment here was to disrupt Rimuru's plan in Falmuth. They spread the rumor that a demon had killed Reyhiem to induce the Church troops (Temple Knights) in the neighboring countries to intervene in Falmuth’s Civil War. Rimuru and Diablo’s plan has been to get the new King Edward’s faction fighting against the former King Edmaris’s faction, supported by Youm’s troops. The plan had been fine until there were more than expected numbers on King Edward’s side, not to mention that Diablo, and by extension, Rimuru, were being framed as Reyhiem's killer. Damrada was talking about the plan and the rumors they had spread in the beginning. They believed that Rimuru was too busy with Hinata’s approach to Tempest that he wouldn't split his army to send reinforcements to Youm. This was a miscalculation. Glenda is working as a sort of double agent. The Church is more interested in getting rid of the Demon than interfering in Falmuth's internal affairs, but Hinata had instructed them to do nothing except to make sure the common people were unaffected. But the Seven Days Clergy (Seven Illuminaries) had been at work since Hinata left to change the actions in Falmuth as well. Damrada has started to believe that the Demon in question wasn't a mere archdemon, because he knew Razen had lost to him, and Razen wouldn't be beaten by a mere archdemon. The East knew more about demons from their research. Anyhow, Damrada had a hunch that maybe sticking around wouldn't be good for his health.
