Rimuru didn't know Diablo was a Primordial. But I still don't think he really gets it. I think his attitude toward Diablo is a combination of knowing that the guy is dangerous to a degree, and his belief that communication solves almost everything, and it doesn't matter what label you put on them, it's taking each person as an individual that counts. It's just that he's always being blindsided by others' reactions to what he's doing. Despite Raphael being there to inform him, Raphael either doesn't know, doesn't always volunteer information, or is too aligned with Rimuru's mindset.

2024-10-10 23:04:16 +0000 UTCI am glad you went back and checked out Masayuki's skills. One main point about Chosen One is that there are four parts, it doesn't do just one thing. Yes, it does improve other people's perception of him, his party's morale, and tends to arrange circumstances in his favor. In addition, it does, iirc, about a 30% buff to his attack or damage, and his party's. His ability to actually fight is low, especially alone. It doesn't make him invincible. In this episode, he realized that his sliding by relying on his skill wasn't going to cut it with this level of competition, and it might get him killed one day. One mistake and he's a goner. It's partly his pride and fear of confrontation that kept him from telling his friends "no". Those with Unique Skills or better are resistant to his mental influence Skill. Also, here we have a 17 yo anime character who, for once, no matter how MC-like he seems, still has only the maturity of a 17 yo. Btw, he's been in the world for about 1 year. As for Rimuru, during this whole "Tournament Arc", most of his focus is on Masayuki and figuring out his abilities. The rest is on Gobta and the Big Four. The big four, or elite four, is actually simplistic renderings of the actual word from the text that is literally translated as "Four Heavenly Kings". This is a concept from Buddhism, and is also a term used by some Japanese samurai leaders to refer to their top four most loyal vassals.

2024-10-10 22:55:09 +0000 UTCThe coin situation: there are not very many means of exchange in this world. Rimuru has a lot of money, actually. He has the Dwarven Stellar Gold coins, which are of such a high denomination that they can't easily be spent. Iirc, 1 Stellar is 100 Gold? Rimuru isn't just taking Elmesia and Gazel's money; he is exchanging it for some Stellars. The merchants, and these are just the retail merchants, signed a contract that they would accept ancient gold coins and other means of exchange. Their insistence that they would only accept the Dwarven gold coins comes from the agreements that the Western nations have made among themselves that those were the only official means of exchange. But they say that they don't trust a monster nation so they insist on the Dwarven gold coins. The Rozzo family is a power behind the scenes in the West.

2024-10-10 22:29:24 +0000 UTCI have been neglecting my comments for the last three episodes, and now there's so much, it's overwhelming for me, let alone you. But I am going to try once again here.
