2024-10-21 13:25:31 +0000 UTCAbout this Season; you asked how much of this is important. I want to say all of it, but of course that's partly my bias. But it is true, as it has been, that very little is throwaway content. Most things have significance for the future plot. And you could see this Season as a settling-in period. If you compare the state of Tempest and the world at the beginning of the Season, to its state at the end, there have been great changes in Tempest's influence on the world. Tempest, and in particular, Rimuru, is having a huge impact on the world. The Church, the Western Nations, the entire Jura Forest, Thalion, Dwargon, etc. are becoming a network. Add in Milim's domain to an extent. I often call Rimuru a connection-making machine. Cultural, economic, and political entwinements, the latter evident in the overture from the Council of the West to Tempest, are proceeding. The Rozzo's have a lot of control over the Council. You can see that letter as having something to do with the Rozzo's. (They are from the West, despite having been aligned with the Eastern merchants. The Eastern Empire, a still-mysterious nation, is basically hostile to the West.) They still are not making Yuuki's dealings very clear. One thing about the Gazebo Meeting 2.0 is that Rimuru purposefully included everyone who knew about his connection to Shizu. Thus, Rimuru had all his suspects in the room, when he asked them about the Eastern Merchants. Only Yuuki equivocated in his answer.

2024-10-17 23:02:54 +0000 UTCI wanted to say first that I enjoyed your reactions to That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. I appreciate that you kept up with it, because a lot of reactors did drop it when it didn't go the way Season 2 went, or the popularity of their reactions didn't keep pace with where they wanted them to be. Still, a fair number of people continued to enjoy it and react to it. My hot take as a light novel reader is that, while flawed mostly in pacing, and I still think they rarely do the battle scenes justice, nevertheless the Third Season anime adaptation kept true to the plot, characters, themes, and intentions of the original work. From an anime-only person's point of view, I can see how this Season can seem odd or confusing. That's why I do my comments. Especially for Seasons 1 and 2, I have watched many reactors, and from experience I know already what people have been confused about, so I have worked out a lot of what background and reminders it seems most people need to offset misconceptions. For Season 3, it was much harder for me to keep up and come up with the right explanations, because in many cases, I still hadn't understood a lot of this to my own satisfaction. That's one of the things that keeps me engaged with Slime, that it's not always simple, and you have to do some thinking.
