DOROTHY Part 8 - Cécile Carre Winkie Country Design
Added 2025-12-10 15:00:00 +0000 UTCOn the West of Oz is Winkie, a barren and desert-like country which was once prosperous and lush. That was until the Wicked Witch of the West took up residence and cast a spell to create an endless draught, out of fear she might be touched by a single raindrop.
Of course, now that Elphaba has never been more popular, persuading audiences to hate the Wicked Witch once again might've been tricky. But I think there's some tragedy in being "evil" since birth. She literally can't do good, she is incapable of it because of the magical rules of Oz. Dorothy was going to find some sadness in this and try and help her, before knowing that the bucket of water was the only way out.

That sounds so interesting as an angle of having sympathy but still unfortunately only have one way it can end. 😔
