Just making a post about the Culinary Creature commission tier real quick! Today I've unpublished the tier and will no longer be taking commissions directly through Patreon.
My logic behind this decision comes from testing the tier out for a few months to see how easy it is for a patron to buy the tier and surrender it in time for the next month's opening. While I've delivered on every commission so far, the user experience via Patreon is lacking.
So far every single patron who has purchased that tier has been charged twice. Since I could only make the tier available at the first of each month, patrons would scramble to buy the tier on the 30th at the risk of being charged again come the 1st. That isn't the experience I want my supporters to have in the rare chance I open myself up for custom pieces. Patreon doesn't operate on 1-time tier payments, so this has buying that particular tier cumbersome.
Over the past few weeks I've been trying to think of different tier styles and commission types I could potentially open up for. I've batted around sketch tiers, lineart, and flat color tiers. It might make more sense starting out to do some sketch tiers first before I open things up a bit more. I may trial out sketch tiers once I finish this month's Patreon commission. Let me know what you think of that or any other potential tiers you might be interested in. :3
Til then, Culinary Creature tier commissions will be unavailable until further notice. I felt terrible seeing people willing to be double-charged for the chance of buying a commission. There's a better way to go about this, so I'll make that my next goal going into next month. :3
