Have you ever noticed that sometimes even though you practice drawing for hours every day, you haven't improved as much as you had hoped? Meanwhile you notice other artists who improve more in a shorter amount of time? Of course how quickly someone improves relies on many factors BUT there are principles you can follow that lead to more effective skill building because JUST practice is not enough!
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to take your art skills to the next level through 8 principles that I have noticed through my own artistic journey, study and consulting with fellow artists. The first part of this tutorial is the "lecture" part, where we go over these valuable principles; the 2nd part is a self-critique demo, and the 3rd part is a casual demo where I put what we have learned into action to try and improve my work!
The knowledge in this tutorial is information that I WISH someone had told me earlier on in my art journey, so I am happy to share it with you and I hope it serves you well.
To cover my bases, let me also insert this little disclaimer: the info in this tutorial is what has worked exceptionally well for me, but everyone is a little bit different. Some of the principles are very challenging, especially for folks who have a hard time with dopamine addiction and focus (I have those issues too!), but I do think they are very valuable and worth the challenge. But if something doesn't resonate with you after trying it out, feel free to take what works for you and leave what doesn't.
