Speedpaint Timelapse with Music of Daughter of Darkness for Patrons

As I mentioned in the post for this piece, I was inspired to do it as a kind of color experiment. I thought Shadowheart would suite this kind of weird, dark, color scheme and I think it turned out well!!

Aside from working with the kind of odd colors, I LOVED drawing her hair blowing to the side. I should draw Shadowheart again just so I get to draw her hair some more. It is a really fun style.

I know that a few of you mentioned the armor in this piece, so I'll touch on that a bit.

I actually felt a bit lazy when it came to rendering the armor, but somehow it still came out well... or maybe that is the trick! If you zoom in on the image or watch as I work on the armor, most of the colors in the armor, aside from the base gray, are very blobby patches of colors. There's a blob of orange here, a blob of dark grayish purple there, etc. Those blobs imply that the metal of the armor is reflecting the surrounding colors! Then, I did my normal method of shading that I have covered in a few past tutorials: using a hard light layer mode and then adding highlights. I did increase the contrast to the armor a bit later in the process, and I think that helps it pop a bit more!!
