Skadi, the Jotunn goddess of snowy mountains, winter, skiing and the hunt.
How cool is it that there is a Goddess who travels by skiing? I don't know why, but I think that is just so cool and unique! Skadi is a figure that I've wanted to draw for quite some time so I managed to squeeze a portrait of her last winter! I also want to do a full figure drawing of her skiing eventually, and hey, if she is scandinavian in the winter, I bet she is a fan of saunas... (skadi spicy art?) lol Anyhoo, I'm getting ahead of myself!

In the speedpaint video of this piece, I included a casual podcast where I start by chatting a bit about the artwork itself, and then we dive a bit into some realizations I've had about finding little joyous activities and moments of awe in a dark season that could be very depressing and energy-sapping. AND, I talk a little about how working on this piece of a goddess of winter helped me realize a little bit of this!
Anyhoo! I hope it gives you a little inspiration to think about and try out a quick little joyous activity to break up your days or at the very least I keep you company for 10 minutes.
Happy watching and listening!
