In my art post for this one, I mentioned that I struggled with it a bit. It was meant to be posted last month, but in the video process, you will see how many different versions I go through when it comes to the rendering and lighting.
I liked how this piece started out and didn't feel like I struggled with the sketch or lineart phase, but once I got into color I started struggling a bit. I did go through some interesting options. You'll see a very dramatic version where I paint a jagged white, almost manga style, design behind the arrow and add dramatic underlighting. I did kind of like this version, but ultimately decided to scrap it in favor of the sun design to symbolise that he is a god of light.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the process of this piece as well as the fun viking themed music. If you are interested, I'll leave the music credits at the bottom of the post.
