As the masquerade flows into full swing, the golden fairy steps onto the dance floor, her wings, as delicate as spider silk and shimmering with pixie dust, open behind her. With her golden mask in place, she glides gracefully into the frey.

I don't know about you, but I freaking love when there is some sort of masquerade in a fantasy book, game, move, you name it! I feel like it is always such a fun and glamourous setting with an air of mystery for the story to unfold!

Thanks! I started with an autumn photo and then painted over and Gaussian blurred it: Similar to what I cover in this Background Hacks tutorial: https://www.patreon.com/posts/60131818/ Then I layer on more rough painting for things like the very rough chandelier shapes before blurring them. For the people in the background, I just roughly painted them and then again blurred! haha. Then I painted a few glows behind the character with the soft airbrush.
